CraigP7x57 Improved
Does anyone have any experience with the 7x57 Improved? How does it compare ballistically to the standard 7x57? Thanks for any help.

<9.3x62>Ackely himself considered it to be one of his only real "improving" successes (along with the 250-3000 and 257). You should be able to get 280 performance or so, depending on the throat and the pressures. Recall that a lot of "improved" ballistics are probably, in truth, a combo of both the extra powder capacity and the tendency to stoke up it up to a bit higher pressure. This is sometimes justified by referring to less bolt push and stuff like that. Anyway...

tom hollandI had one a number of years ago and it was right long side of the 7 mag from the 145 gr to 160 gr bullets. Great round. Tom
