Guy at range has one, it does that well if not better, just loud.
If Rem made it in 7/08 or 260, I sure would take a good look, never was my cup of tea-the 308 as good as it is and cheap plentiful ammo.
About went the 20" tactical savage route, and they discontinued the 260! And the 708 was also in it I believe.
The LTR does balance nice, in fact one of my 708 Varmint, now in a VLS stock was shortened years ago to 21", LOUD, but ACCURATE and handy.
A 20-22" bull or fluted bull sure does handle/balance well if you have not handled one. That LTR is light enough for field use, not just stand use like some Long heavy barreled guns.
I have one in 308 Win. I just started working up a load using the 168gr Sierra MK's. The starting load group measured something like .353" center to center, that was a 5 shot group! I can't remember the velocity. The powder I started with was Reloader 15.
