they are more of a long range bullet, that being said ive smashed some pretty big bones with A-maxs, and most people wouldnt even consider using A-maxs for hunting!

I have a couple of buddies who ran 168 VLDs out of their .300 RUMs last year. They killed 5-6 deer altogher and expansion was dramatic, but all had exits. I don't think any moved after the shot. I think it's a fine deer bullet, but not sure on larger game.

I'm using the new 140grn VLD in one of my 7RMs this year. They did great on paper and did well on my antelope this year. The MV was around 3175, shot around 150, slight quarter, took out vitals, the bottom of the spine, and still exited. Hope to try them on some whitetails before long.
The Bergers have been getting pretty good on game reports from what I've seen. Best of the West sure believes in them.
Good Luck
