While the year isn't over yet I thought you might like to note the person that you trust the most when it comes to posting accurate information about rifles and reloading and ammunition. There are many folks posting on these forums and occasionally I shudder when I read some posts. Conversely there are a few folks that, because of the consistency of good information, I would trust to give me good information almost all the time. May I nominate Stonecreek as poster of the year. Who else do you believe deserves such recognition?

And this year's "Poster of the Year" goes to.... Stonecreek is not a bad choice. I particular dote on his Sako knowledge!! For the "Best European Poster of the Year" (is this starting to sound like the Grammys or Oscar's?? ), I would like to nominate our very own "Gerry" for his eloquence and good spirits (never a harsh word), as well as "1894Mk2" for his unbeatable field experience. Hard to beat experience of more than a hundred actual kills per year, year in year out. - mike ********************* The rifle is a noble weapon... Gee, thanks guys! I'm sure my employers will be thrilled by this honor, particularly the thought that I've spent at least half of the time that I'm otherwise paid to work for them pontificating on shooting and reloading, instead. If this is like voting on Homecoming Queen and you can't vote for yourself, I'll cast my first vote for Alberta Canuck, not only for his insightful posts, but also for his helping me with some very hard-to-find ammunition. And I'd also like to nominate Gatagordo, who is sometimes gruff, but always in good humor (unless you say something totally irrational to him), and except for instances when he disagrees with me, pretty well knows his stuff.

I guess I would have to choose between all the posters whose posts I will always open up when I see their name even if the thread is of no interest to me djpaintles mho rcamuglia fish(with a bunch of numbers I can't remember right now) Hot Core (love to poke fun and try to drag him into the 21st century) steve4102 kraky Doc224/375 stonecreek DMB But I would have to agree that Alberta Canuck is the most dedicated and knowledgeable (read anal) around here and has led me to a couple of epiphanies (I'm thinking about a lawsuit ) ____________________________________ There are those who would misteach us that to stick in a rut is consistency - and a virtue, and that to climb out of the rut is inconsistency - and a vice. - Mark Twain | Chinese Proverb: When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others. ___________________________________

Thanks for the kind thoughts you guys, but I do not deserve any special acknowledgement at all. I don't really think maybe any one member of AR deserves "poster of the year", though many are certainly eligible. I think there are at least 5 dozen contributors, maybe 5 times that number, who make these forums what they are; places I love to hang out. I can't imagine what it would be like without a certain famous guide/writer from Alaska, Stonie, Roger, Seafire, Jeffeosso, Butch Lambert, .303Guy, SnowWolfe, 500 Grains, Craigster, a certain varmint shooter in Nebraska, and many, many more from at least 5 of the 7 continents. If I didn't mention your name specifically, I should have. And a special thanks to Gato Gordo and HotCore for all their posts here at AR. I think both catch a lot of undeserved S--T just because they are both straight-forward, what you see is what you get kind of guys. They may not be social lions in some of your eyes, but they both try to help and are smart and experienced shooters. That's more than I paid for when I came here, and I appreciate their chipping in. It is the mix of all our experiences and opinions which creates the synergy and prompts the information that makes AR a treasure that one is privileged to see. If a person from Quebec, or Altoona, Houston or somewhere in Arizona, or anywhere else, sometimes says something I'm not sure I agree with, either in part or at all, it is still worth while and useful. It will make me think, try to understand what they have experienced that I didn't, and fairly often cause me to learn something really worth the effort and momentary frustration. Not in the sense of the movie, but in real life, we ARE a "band of brothers" here and for that I am thankful this week and every week. Happy Thanksgiving you guys...and a certain lady veterinarian whose humour I love, too!! AC

If you're referring to vapodog, he hasn't posted here for quite some time. Same for 500 Grains.

Yes, it is Vapodog, and I know he hasn't posted recently. I really miss his shooting wisdom, advice, and experience, and was hoping it was just something temporary. Ditto 500 grains.

Now you have REALLY embarrassed me. Thing is, I meant every word of it. Guess my one year of experince as a political speech writer has ruined my ability to communicate in simple English. I really enjoy the forum. I have learned SOOOoo much from all of the frequent posters here. I agree with Woods. There are just certain names you see that have posted and it's a great move to just open the thread to see what has been discussed. Invariably those folks have great info to share or something entertaining and witty. Stonecreek Hot Core Woods 303Guy AC seafire2 ......... The list goes on... Thanks much to all on this Thanksgiving Eve!

And let's not, by all means, forget Malm (WestPac). His practical working-every-day-as-an-INTELLIGENT-gunsmith information is invaluable. If I lived close enough to him to not have to trust my guns to UPS or FedEx, I suspect he'd get almost all of my business.

He gets all of mine now. Matter of fact I am patiently waiting for him to finish a 375 Ruger on a Model 70 with a Pac-Nor 3 groove. ____________________________________ There are those who would misteach us that to stick in a rut is consistency - and a virtue, and that to climb out of the rut is inconsistency - and a vice. - Mark Twain | Chinese Proverb: When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others. ___________________________________

It really depends on the forum for me. In general, I would have to vote for seafire2, in the Gunsmithing forum it would either be Duane Wiebe or Malm. In the varmint forum it would be Bob in TX.
