I hunted with a 7mm RM for quite some time, I can do without the belt, its nothing but a damn nussance that is good for nothing but image and hanging up on themselves when you are trying to load your rifle. Why bother? They should all be redisigned without the damn thing except for the ones that really use it. In fact, even the H&H's should be given shoulders and shortened, IE; made obsolete. That's what happens to old technology, it becomes obsolete and makes way for better designs. Just like automobiles and buildings, belted cartridges are the breaker point and coil systems of the cartridge world. Ive had enough hasseling with them. Someone else can deal with that crap. Get the 280 Boomstick! Ive got two of them and am building my third. Youll love it! AK-47 The only Communist Idea that Liberals don't like.

Ashamed to give up all the extra performance over an idiosyncrasy. Oh well, you can lead a horse to water..... Terry -------------------------------------------- Well, other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

No need to give up anything in spite of a useless belt. There are enough cartridges around today without them that will do anything that those with the silly belt will do. Lots of european versions, the WSM's, 376 Steyr, Etc. etc. Besides, a 280 gives up very little to a 7mm RM anyway. In fact it makes the RM look as inefficent as the RM makes the STW or Ultra look. Lead a horse to water indeed.
