A friend just acquired a bolt rifle in 350 Rigby, but has no idea about ammunition or brass. Anyone here shoot one? Is the case based on a more common round?

CJ, thanks. I see that Safari Arms loads for the 350 Rigby Magnum. Perhaps I'll just have him order from them.

Biebs, I shoot one. Brass is available from Bertrams(UGH!) and Quality Cartridge; when they get enough demand to tool up. You can make it from 375 H&H brass in a lathe, by shortening it, reducing rim diameter, turning off the belt and deepening the extractor groove. I made up 50 this way and it took me a couple of hours of set up and run time on my first batch, but I am slow! Several people have expressed interest in building a 350R here in the last several months, but no one replied for commitment on buying correct brass. I have a call in to Quality to find out what the minimum order is to get them to tool up for a run, if they call me back I will post. Lee. DRSS(We Band of Bubba's Div.) OK, Quality Cartridge called me back and said that catching up on current orders will take them to early summer. He said at that time he will put them on the schedule. If you order them, they will be on backorder and you won't be charged until they call you to confirm to ship. DRSS(We Band of Bubba's Div.) N.R.A (Life) T.S.R.A (Life) D.S.C.

I have to confess that I have not yet tried out my .350 Rigby. Until just recently, I had virtually lost all sight in my right eye and shooting left handed has not yet become as instinctive as I would like. I do have some Bertram brass, so I will be able to make use of it when the time comes, but that time is not now, yet. Right now, I am consumed with celebrating my 80th birthday next week.

Happy 80th B-Day xausa!! I wish you many more so that you can get more practice in with that left eye and go hunt Africa once again. Those beautiful rifles of yours need to get back there. Especially a 350 Rigby!

If you can live without the nostalgia, the the 35 Chatfield Taylor, or the 35/300 Win mag is pretty darn close and much less trouble or maybe just a 35 Norma...I played with the 350 CT at one time, but opened it up to a 35 on a 300 H&H case, can't recall the proper name of the wildcat, maybe Griffen and Howe, it was a hammer, great wildcat in its day, and that ain't changed.
