The Ross rim is larger but the case head is only 2 thou off from one measurement I've seen.

I noticed the coincidence so just did a search and seen this has been before.
Would be a good match if you had a 375 or 416 Ruger already.

I was under the impression that the 375 Ruger was a standard rimless case. If that is indeed the case, I would tend to assume that making it into a rimmed case like the 280 Ross would be quite a challenging and labor-intensive endeavor at best. Can you elaborate a little more? I have absolutely zero experience with either one.

The Ross is a semi rimmed case. The case head is about the same. A rifle should pick up the slightly smaller rim of the Ruger if not just stock up on the expensive and rare Ross brass. I like the case design of the Ross minus the semi rim. I think a winmag conversion of a rimless version with a .284" barrel (280 Ross is a few thou larger bullet diameter) is a cool idea. I saw some pics of the forming of the case from Ruger brass.

I haven't gotten around to trying it out yet, but I have the 375 Ruger brass and the 280 dies. Just have to find the time.
I know many who say they have some experience with the 280 will tell you that no matter the brand of dies you end up with in 280 Ross, the chances that they will process brass that will fit the chamber of an M10 Sporter is small.
I wouldn't have thought everything would be that far out of wack,,but what do I know.

I just need something to make cases to fit to the point of fireforming and from there neck size. I can't think of anything better than a set of 280 Ross dies for a 280 Ross.
But we'll see. Should be fun,,or maybe not!.
I'm going to try standard 284 bullets to start out with and see what I get. Worth a try I figure.
If the Ruger brass doesn't work out,,I'll try reforming a few pieces of belted mag brass I have. I'd like to at least shoot the thing a few times.

Some info over on the Ross Rifle site on reloading for it if you search thru the threads
on the 'sporter' forum.
