Hornady tries to fill every niche possible. I never thought an ammunition company would actually do it, but I'm not surprised it was Hornady. I'm sure it will sell well to a certain group of people.

I have a friend that will probably buy it.

I don't know .. But, I've already stocked up on " Non-Lead Plated Pellets ".. for the " Alien Invasion ".. Big Grin

In my humble opinion
1. Conventional / Tradional Lead Bullets won't work !
2. " Aliens " can't detect the " Subsonic Plated Pellets ":
No Heat Signature
No Muzzle Flash
Very Low Sonic pressure wave signature.
Very low RCS (Radar Cross Section: Stealth Tech)
3. Plated Metal Pellet (Head Shots) short circuit/disrupts their internals Circuits/Electromagnetic waves .
4. HMMM.. Pellets might just work on the " Zombies "... ?

Gamo .25 Cal Plated (Brass alloy ?) Power Pellets

Range Testing

Mountian Air .25 cal
Theboen Eliminator .25 cal

I'm personally, just having some good fun with this dancing

However,on a more serious note !

Who am " I " to debate the possibility ??
" Mr. Stephen Hawkings " seems to have a " Professional Opinion " on the Subject !

" May 07, 2010|By Amina Khan, Los Angeles Times
Famed physicist Stephen Hawking set off chatter in the scientific community in late April when he posited the existence of intelligent aliens on his new TV series, "Into the Universe with Stephen Hawking" —adding that it would be best for human beings to avoid contact with them.

Hawking speculated that such aliens would likely be nomads, living in ships after sucking their own planet dry of resources, and hopping from one interstellar refueling station to the next. Earth, he said, shouldn't do anything to encourage their visit. "

Sounds like the " BORG " are coming ..?

PAPI,
How do you like your Theboen Eliminator .25 cal? I have had a bunch of springers including a Webley Patriot 25.

I am back from a long Hiatus... or whatever.

In my humble opinion..
1. It did not reach the original advertised velocity . I was very, very disappointed with this Frowner
2. Very finicky with ammo
3. It's also very finicky with " Hold " to get consistent groups.
4. Very heavy for an " Air Rifle "
5. Takes both hands, with lots of effort, to open barrel, single stroke " Pump ".

In general.. I wouldn't recommend it, cost too much $$$$$, for what you get.

I have more " FUN " using both of my " Mountain Air Pistol (Pump) & Carbine ( C02 )..At one third the cost Wink

http://forums.accuratereloadin...781009241#1781009241

For same outlay of cash.. You could get a very nice " .22 cal Rimfire Rifle ", which I already have more than a few.

My Zombie gun is a Sig 522. All you need is a 22LR autoloader. You can easily carry a few thousand rounds and we all know the 22LR does well for head shots. Anything bigger won't do any better. tu2

You can't kill a zombie with a lever gun. Everyone knows they only die if you shoot them with a semi or full auto.

I don't take a whole lot of life very seriously... but even I think this is a bit too much.

Wait until this stuff shows up on the news... it's not going to do us any favors helping us keep the hearts and minds of the middle-of-the-road voters.

The ad was emailed to me and the first thing I thought is what a "field day" a prosecutor will have with the poor bugger who happens to own a box of that stuff and has to defend themselves from a real life threat. It doesn't seem to leave much room for a defense attorney to show that their client felt truly threatened and were only exercising their Second Amendment rights and not looking for trouble or fanaticizing about killing someone.

I hope I'm wrong.

I can somewhat see your point of view... HMMM !

I don't use/carry " BAD BULLETS ? " (still have a few boxes of Black Talons) for personal defense/protection.

However, " He or She " could also , place blame, on all of the " Violent Cartoons & Violent Movies "..which haven't seem, to get less explicit over the years ; The Book of Eli / Terminator / Alien vs Predator / Independance Day popcorn

Somehow.. the " Attorney's " will always find a way to play the " Blame Game " , right or wrongly shame

Remember the " Twinkie Defense ".. Roll Eyes

Then again the CDC seems to acknowledge the possibility of a Zombie apocolypse.

Strangely enough they don't mention firearms in the preparedness kits. How can you follow rule #2 (double tap), and #25 (shoot first) without firearms?

This is about as stupid as stupid is. Stupid is as stupid does. What are these people thinking. I have lost all faith in Hornady. To top it off I was shooting some 25 caliber 117 gr SSTs at 500 yards out of a gun that will shoot under a minute at that distance and saw bullets fishtailing going to the target. I'd have 2 shots in a 2.5 inch group and the next one would go 3 feet wide. I was behind the spotting scope when I saw the fishtailing with someone else shooting. Two years ago I had one go to pieces on a deer and just blew a 5 inch hole about 1 inch deep. This was with a 30 caliber A-Max. I'm done with Hornady.

Silver Bullets are for Werewolves

For a vampire you need a wooden bullet.

Actually for vampires I just drill out my hollow points to make them a bit deeper, fill them with holy water and top them with some red wax ...
