think of it as a 35 Whelen on steroids. My little FS has proven to be a great hunting rifle.
Like the H&H (both) it has that "just right" balance of bullet velocity and speed, and a great selection of good hunting bullets in many weights.

It just works!

Comparison of same loads using GS HV 230gr and IMR 4895 in 9,3x62 50 cm (~20") barrel and 9,3x74R 60 cm (24") barrel - roughly 50fps or 1 grain diff.:

9,3x62 IMR 4895 oal 83 mm:

59 gr= 2474 fps
60 gr= 2506 fps
61 gr= 2573 fps

9,3x74R IMR 4895 oal 94 mm:

59 gr= 2436 fps
60 gr= 2454 fps
61 gr= 2524 fps
