My next next trip over..this goes! CZ 550 with a little re-model on the stock and now wears NECG sights.....

Idaho Sharpshooterthink of it as a 35 Whelen on steroids. My little FS has proven to be a great hunting rifle.
Like the H&H (both) it has that "just right" balance of bullet velocity and speed, and a great selection of good hunting bullets in many weights.
It just works!

Jimmy P Coaltrainhow does the 9.3 x 62 compare to the 9.3 x 74? I see Ruger offers that in their #1.

.404I have one of the Ruger #1's as well.Nice shooting,handling gun. I do not have photo's yet as I am still swapping scopes around to get a good balance.

Comparison of same loads using GS HV 230gr and IMR 4895 in 9,3x62 50 cm (~20") barrel and 9,3x74R 60 cm (24") barrel - roughly 50fps or 1 grain diff.:
9,3x62 IMR 4895 oal 83 mm:
59 gr= 2474 fps
60 gr= 2506 fps
61 gr= 2573 fps
9,3x74R IMR 4895 oal 94 mm:
59 gr= 2436 fps
60 gr= 2454 fps
61 gr= 2524 fps
