1 caliber for sheep, antelope and deer.
1 caliber for elk, moose and bear.

Alternate choices for variety.

Question:
What calibers would you own if forced to have only 2?

Feel free to comment on rifle's chosen as well.

Choices:
257 Weatherby and 30-06 Springfield
7mm Rem. Mag and 375 Ruger
7 X 57 Mauser and 338 RCM
6.5 X 284 Norma and 300 RUM
280 AI and 340 Weatherby

I picked the 7x57 and 338RCM but if I had my druthers it'd be the 7x57 and .35 Whelen which I already have. I'll probably never hunt the great bears or even a moose so an occasional antelope or elk and deer, those will more than suffice.

I voted for the .280 AI and .340 Wby but I would replace the .280 AI with the .270 WSM. I have shot the .270 WSM and .340 Wby for years and would be perfectly happy with that combo. That said I also have shot a .338 Lapua and .358 STA for years and would be just as happy to replace the .340 Wby with either and keep the .270 WSM for the Deer sized game. Good shooting.

Hey Corey how about a .257 Roberts and a 30/06?
That covers it well for me.

if i only big game hunted.
the above would sure cover an awful lot of territory.
i wussed out and went 7x57 ackley and 8mm mauser.
the wife went 257 and 30-06.
she actually had the nerve to sell her tuned & tweaked charles daley x57 and bought the 0-6 while i was on a trip.
i was not amused when she moved in on my 257 featherweight.

Excellent choice for shootability.

The 257 Roberts, 25-06 Rem. and the 257 Weatherby are all actually quite easy to shoot so choose your quarter bore medicine.

You can be sure the individual who choose's a quarter bore and a 30-06 as a 2 rifle battery can probably shoot them extremely well.

Didn't vote because I don't like you choices in chambering. I'll go with 30-06 and .375 H+H.
