How about a .300 H&H necked up to take a 9.3mm bullet.Still having the slick shoulderradius for slick feeding...and pushing a 320grain bullet at some 2250-2300 Ft/sec..or better..?
I don`t believe that there has been any 9.3mm cartridges with a magnumbelt??

If you or anyone is interested --- Pac Nor has my reamer in 9.3-338 WM, which they can use to make you a barrel, and Redding will make the dies.

Why wouldn't one just neck down a 375 H&H....or better still just chamber for the standard cartridge in 375 H&H...the only difference is about .009" difference in bullet diameter...or .23 mm smaller!

the 300 h+h headstamp can be altered to read 366 h+h thumb

if you lost yer ammo in africa you could buy 9,3x62 and 300 h+h ammo and swap bullets and keep the same load in the h+h.

rabbid love of the 9,3 and properly headstamped brass my dear watson...

wildcats have nothing to do with rationality but disease Wink

The 366 H&H (366 Hillbilly & Hick)/366 JP sounds cool.

Stick with 286 grain super bullets (north fork, Swift, etc.)

Nice trajectory, moderate recoil, good terminal performance.

Just fill the case with RL-15/N 203-B and have at it.

Very easy conversion.

l.d.

a 9,3 h+h is one of the classiest wildcats i have ever heard of...9,3 is german i think bewildered and the english case...a true mending of ww2 enemies Big Grin

if one were trying to keep it bavarian you could go 9,3x68 and use the 8x68 brass and change the headstamp to 368x68

the 68 case is german, no?

has anyone made a 9,3x68? aka 368x68???

just did a search...aparently a few have made 9,3x68 aka newly coined by me the 368x68 Big Grin

so properly headstamped 368x68 brass and use a lighter handier 7mag action

l.d. how about that one for the 9,3 lovers???

.366 torque...where are you???

of course you could just stamp 375 h+h on the barrel and use 375 h+h brass and none the wiser...if anyone did use real 375 h+h it would just go faster and not be accurate so no harm.

That sounds pretty good. Though I agree with Vapodog on that the 375H&H case profile would be much better. You can still use 300 H&H brass, but will need to fireform to correct chamber.
You're right it'll be a real slick feeder.

OK, to convert this to reality, where can reamer and dies be found.

Otherwise, it's just talk.

Also, I think the price will depend on whether it's been done before.

The 9,3x62 is as adequate as ever, but if you really want 200 fps more, then the 9,3x64 will fullfil all your wishes. Forget all the damn trouble with wildcats.

Dave Kiff for the reamer, no premium on the price.

Hornady for the dies ~ $90.00

Cheap and easy.

You should know where to source that stuff.

It has already been done, perhaps times and times over but here in Sweden a guy in my forum there did his in 2003.

http://forum.robsoft.nu/viewtopic.php?t=4085

It´s called the 9,3-03 AKI for the year of completion and AKI is the handle for the guy at the forum.

Since then he has shot a few moose with it and the performance has been outstanding.

here is some more; http://forum.robsoft.nu/viewtopic.php?t=27110&highlight=303+aki

To those who dont read Swedish and wont use babelfish here is the guys mail adress

anders.isaksson@pp2.inet.fi

He is finnish, speaks swedish and is most likly fluent in english as well.

the 9,3-03 AKI with the 320 grains Woodleig bullet makes for some serious medicine.

Best regards Chris

Say, have any of you 9.3 afficianados ever seen or heard of a 9.3x74R Improved? Saw an ad for a custom Valmet 412 double rifle in Gun List years ago. Seems such a conversion would unregulate a conventional double but it might give the Valmet/Tikka 412/512 or a single-shot a useful boost?

Would be utterly foolish to do one!

There are other 9,3 cals that will do the jobb better if more speeds is reqiured.

the 9,3x70 Express, ask lawndart about it!?

When would you need more speed from a x74R?

Ya,
The 9.3 x 70 has the maximum horsepower available without being foolish.

The 9.3 x 74 brass, bullets and pressure curves were united 100 +/- years ago. No sense to mess with that.

LD

Thanks for the heads up on the Sweidish experimenter Husky98.
There is nothing new under the sun, eh?

Yupp, you are so right, however they are an incitament to get married or have a registred partnership, cause if your girl just passes the hunters education exams then one can have 12!!!

I must add that there are other ways to circumvent the 6 gun rule, If I join different clubs for lets say clay shooting, trap, silloutte, bench rest, running moose, 300 meters high power, 22 LR running boar, 22 LR target and so forth....

Then I can have a dedicated gun for each of these events, the same applies for handguns to..

PS no handgun hunting in Sweden besides the hunt for badger and fox in their dens. Ds
