The tomahawk is an amazing tool. I never paid much attention to them but now that i have one i couldn't do without. They make field butchering a piece of cake. Haveing trouble finding the right place to cut in a joint? Out comes the hawk. Split a pelvis? Effortless. Chop down one side of the spine cutting through the ribs only takes about 10 seconds.
I've also heard that they are a deadly weapon and that some native american ww2 soldiers used them with chilling effectiveness. But i wouldn't know about that.

Cold Steel weapons are hit and miss. I have a Samburu spear that's crap, but my Kukri is awesome, very well made. My Recon Tanto is a good knife, my Cold Steel thrower is a piece of s**t that broke after a dozen throws ( and they would not cover the warranty!) The Riflemans tomahawk I have is good steel but poorly finished and balanced. Not sure I'll ever buy Cold Steel again.

I know a couple of gents who have hunted pigs with katanas. It is pretty graphic stuff but you can basically cleave them in half if you know what you are doing. No reason a well placed tomahawk wont do the job if place right. You just have to get up close and personal is all.

How do you kill a boar with a tomahawk? What sort of blows and to where?

It sounds much much more practicable to use a long stabbing knife to me.

I would think the spike end to the back of the head would work (assuming the LaGana spike end is long enough)
