Proguiding , Namibia is the only company to offer back pack hunts for leopard. 14 day hunts in the Erongo and Nauchas mountains is an adventure not easily surpassed. Hunting the ultimate predator, one on one in its kingdom , makes for hunting in its purest form.

That's an interesting hunt John.

Disclosure: I am being a total tire kicker. How is the hunt conducted? What are success rates like?

I'm interested in hearing more about the hunt.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

I can't figure out how this works. Typically, you put up about 6 baits, check each daily and replenish as necessary. How do you do that on a backpack hunt?

I visited their website. Even though it is under construction, I got a fairly good idea of what they are offering and it does have appeal.

The suggested fitness level of the hunter would not be a hurdle for you Brett. Cool

Sorry for not getting back sooner , I have been travelling and hunting in the USA.
we pack the meat from the zebra we have shot to our selected bait sites. this is the hardest part of doing a back pack leopard hunt.
we check baits everyday and this could mean a 7-10mile hike everyday.
