OK, should we be attacked by a herd (gaggle, bevy, brigade) of hogs, I would engage them at 100 yards with:

my T/C in 35 Rem, using 180 grain Hornady's. The survivors would be picked up at 75 yards by my son using:

my 44Mag shooting 300 grain lead bullets. At 50, I would pick up with:

my FA in 475 Linebaugh using 400 grain gas checked lead bullets. If they penetrate the 30 yard perimeter they would be met with:

my 45 Colt shooting 300 grain cast lead. If any came closer still, I would kick my son out tof the blind and say "Go get 'em Tiger". Now I just need a belt or something to hang all these on!
Peter.

I see you use the ext tube to mount. I'm guessing there's a concern w/fracturing the lenses otherwise?

odoh, I never mount my Ultra-dots like that, I do it around the sight not the extension. I have never had one problem with cracking the lenses.

I too have my Ultradot mounted on the sight itself and not the extension and there is no issue.

The Ultra Dot has a tough tube. However I have cracked the glass on cheaper ones so you might say I am gun shy.
