Well,I have a few to many and have 2 more customs "Under Construction" right now,so I am contemplating selling my BFR 500 Smith that JRH shorned barrel to 2.5",added a rib and adj front blade, rounded the grip frame and lengthend the chambers to 2.1" for the 500 SS (Super Smith or California)aka a 500 Smith on Steroids, same length as a 50 Alaksan, but .500 instead of .510..I will take $1200 for it and also will include another pair of Cocobolo grips being made for it now...I know this isnt the classified, but thought this would be a good spot to spread the word! Yah,it was fun to do and I have 3 other BFR's to use in 50/110...As a 500 Smith,I will use my PC Smith, for fun,I have others and sometimes I just get carried away and I am weeding out some of my pistols right now...Nothing is wrong with it,it is practically new..So,be ther first kid on your block with one! Yes,it IS a 500 Smith & Wesson(but we lengthened the chambers for a 2.1" case also)...Weight is a mere 53 Ounces..Cylinder IS Freewheeling. These are built like Tanks and the barrel cylinder gap is as close as the best of them, incl Freedom Arms! Smiler

If I would have posted a monstrosity like this on here everyone would have been telling me how useless it was and how it wasn't efficient with that short barrel and how the recoil would be horrendous and that a smaller cartridge would be better.

Just making a statement is all.
Making a statement is in no way indicative of my mood or anything else.
In fact I am getting ready to sit down to chicken, gravy, and bisciuts and am fairly happy as I am getting ready to indulge in my favorite pass time, eating, then I will watch tv until maybe 11PM and then I will maybe load some ammo after my ball and chain goes to bed
Are you happy? I hope so.

Me_Plat, I am only happy if you are happy...... You seem so angry, so disatisfied, down trodden, hurt...... Again, what is it that ails you?

WHITWORTH

My happiness or unhappiness does not rest on your shoulders.
I am probably no more happy or unhappy than the general run of the populace.
There are times that I more happy then others just like anyone else. I have never met ANYONE that is happy all the time unless they oblivious to life in general such as someone that has a mental condition that doesn't allow them to comprehend life on this mortal coil.
Or maybe someone that medicates themselves to a euphoric level and stays there. But woe unto them when they start running out of the meds legal or otherwise then there is a small percent of the time they aren't happy until the get their supply replenished then it is off to la la land again.
Me I just go with the flow of life. If at any given time things are going well I'm happy if not going well I'm not happy. But, I do try to look on the bright side as thing can always be worse and most of the time that works to lift me to greater heights of happiness whether real or imagined.
How do you always keep yourself happy without slumping into the doldrums and the abyss of unhapiness?

I self medicate....... Big Grin (kidding!)

Much like you, I have come to the realization that no matter how bad my life me seem at times, it can always be worse. I know this sounds cliche, but it's true.......

Truth be told, when things get really bad, I found that the best "medicine" for me is blood letting. I go hunting. Nothing seems to relax me more at this stage in my life........

WHITWORTH:

As a youth I liked to go ground hog hunting with my 22. Most of the time I found myself leaned back against a tree just looking around and enjoying the landscape.
At this time here 8:13 PM I am happy but that could change at anytime. I am like the willow in the wind.

Why would that change?? You are home, you ate chicken, gravy and biscuits, you have your heath (I assume), a roof over your head, a significant other (this could be a plus or a minus depending.... Big Grin), guns in the safe.......what could be so bad?? Oh, I know, the Obama-palooza is going on as we speak and that could sour a person's mood.......

I too like the time spent outdoors. If I am out in the woods, armed, things can be worse.....

In the religious book "The Celebration of Discipline" by Richard Foster, that would be one of the major disciplines...the discipline of meditation. It works for me as well.
