I went to the range today and got my gun sighted in for 25 yards, (indoor range.) I found a load right off the bat, I am loading 29 gr. of IMR 4227 under Montana Bullet Works 350 gr. WFNGC bullets and Winchester large pistol primers. The gun in an Encore and the barrel length with muzzle break is 10 inches. I put a Ultra-dot Match dot sight on it. I bore sighted the red-dot in, and I made 3 adjustment's and was sighted in 1/2 inch high at 25 yards. I got one ragged hole with a 5 shot group at 25 yards. The gun is a tack driver. The velocity is in the 1250 fps to 1300 fps range.
Over all I am very pleased with the Mini Beast.

Good deal!! That's really promising! Are you going to stick with that bullet weight, or will you try some others out? Can you photograph the .510 GNR next to a known cartridge? I'll post it up. I for one would love to see what it looks like........

Here are a couple of pictures that Redhawk sent me.

First photo is of a bevy of big cartridges. From left to right: .500 S&W with 700 grain bullet, .510 GNR with 350 grain bullet, and .480 Ruger with 400 grain bullet.

In this photo, the .510 GNR dwarfs a .40 S&W.

And finally, Redhawk's 10-inch Encore with an Ultradot Match Dot mounted topside.

Ya just can't beat the reeder guns. I have the same set-up in 500 S&W and what a handful that is! After about 6 or 7 full house loads, my hand is trembling and I need to take a break for awhile. Thats with padded shooting gloves too. But...I love that gun. Nice Mini-beast Alex. Potent caliber too.

I have an OTT in 500 Mag also. I have it set up on another frame with some Georgia Jim custom grips in red and black. Both guns a great shooters, but I know what you mean by a handful in the 500 Mag in the Encore...

They are "cool looking" guns Redhawk1. Cool thumb Apparently the ultradot sights hold up to the hard kickers?

Thanks for sharing.

Darrell, Ultradots certainly do hold up to the big kickers! I have one on my custom .475 Linebaugh Super Redhawk, and it hasn't missed a beat! I got mine from Ultradot West -- www.ultradotwest.com -- the Ultradot 30 that I have is $135.00 shipped.........

Indeed they do, these are both the Ultra-dot Match dot sights. I have had them both on other 500 Mags and now on the Encores with no problems at all. I also have a 1 inch Ultra-dot that has well over 5000 rounds from 460 Mag to 500 mag and now it is on my Ruger SRH in 480 Ruger.

In my opinion Ultra-dot makes one of the best red dot sight out there.
