GSSP, that is a great pic. You have fullfilled one of my dreams with that trophy.

Here is a pic of an antelope that I killed in casper Wyoming on opening day this year. I shot him at 555 yards with a XP-100 in 7 SAUM built by Kirby Allen. This is a friends gun, I was hunting with my 240 Weatherby Encore pistol and he was a little out of range with no no chance of getting closer, so I took his offer of the 7 SAUM. The lope is a little over 15". I am not looking for any discussion on the ethics of long range shooting, just sharing a pic. Thanks, Shawn

7STDUBBERU,

Awesome buck and great LR shot! I took a nice 15-1/2" "lope" back in the early '80's with a 14" TC Contender in 30 Herrett; only about 225 yds. No argument w/ me on the LRH issue. I contribute a bit to the LRH site myself. Kirbly makes some great rifles. I shoot a 30-06 AI myself out, so far, to about 1000 yds.

GSSP,

Don't you know you can't kill an animal that size with a gun that generates less than 1,000 FP of energy ? Aparently the moose didn't understand either.
Great trophy.

So a 4-5/8" Blackhawk in 45 LC using 335 gr cast is a normal moose gun????

Here is my Antelope I took the same day as Shawn's on the same ranch in Wyoming last week. 152 yds with a 7-08 XP100. Had to stalk nearly 2 miles to get the shot.

Stalk, the first mile was almost a dead run! Great job on catching up to and harvesting that fine buck.
