I love it!!!

Maybe some micarta slabs too for the most extreme conditions.

Perfect for defensive shooting and follow up shots.

Thanks and HNY Guys!....Yes,I think its sweet and as far as recoil goes,No Problemo!I just "deal with it"! hilbily Nothing can be worse than my 2.5" 50/110 BFR CRYBABY As far as the grips go,I am crazy about Stag(my Knives too)and I had to pay $365 for those presentation grade customs!I will just wear gloves thumbwhen they are on,But,i also have the Great Walnut ones Jack made in the pic and a pair of Ivorys too!So I am set...He also loads a 900fps 425FlatNose that he has gotten full penetration on Bison Himself from his 500JRH!...I think the Barnes All Copper Huge Hollow Points at maybe 1500 +/- will take any North American Game out, including Grizz and Hogzillas too!
What I like is its compact "horsepower/weight ratio"!That is a Custom crossdraw I had made by RedHawks Leather man and it should wear well in the front and be ready for backup,"justincase" Wink...Jack will chrony both loads and I will have two front sight blades, one for each load(Now ain't that snazzy!)...More pics and details when Hellboy shows up (Having that deep relief engraved in the backstrap) beer

wow someone thats actually ALOT crazier then me! Youd have to do some serious bribery to get me to shoot that with full power loads. I shot a 4 inch 500 linebaugh with a blackhawk grip frame and shot one cylinder full and put it down. I doubt id get that far with that birdshead gun.

Very beautiful... beer The 275 grain Barnes XPB is getting 1675 FPS acording to Jack. Now that's a man stopper.. thumb I'm thinking about a small 500 JRH on a cut down Redhawk..

Tom, the 440 grain wide flat point hard cast at 950 FPS made this exit in the rib cage of a 6X7 Bull Elk

I have one similar by Jack Huntington, Mine is a 454 Casull, 45 Colt, 45 Win Mag with moon clips and a 45 ACP with moon clips, also has a bobbed hammer. I would of loved the 500 JHR like the one you had.

Now all we need is the 550! shoot 20 gauge sabots holding .500" bullets to keep it legal on a bfr frame. If you forget the sabot and shoot a 550 bullet... oh well Wink

ART time:

Test shot this lil gun, and, with 440's at 950 fps, it was about the same as a 44 mag, in other words, felt like a 22lr.

I would have loved to have bought this Ruger, but, didn't have the money at the time...

What I'd like to see is a BFR, short cylinder, like this one:

Cut down to shroud, or a bit less length, and made into a snub.

But, that's just me...

I think I've got to get one of these, when an X frame comes up, and, just shoot .500JRH out of it:

A Jack Huntington as well...

hmmmm. Recoil table follows:2.5 pound gun:

440 @ 1200 fps:Recoil Energy of 44 foot pounds, and Recoil Velocity of 34 fps.
440@950:Recoil Energy of 28 foot pounds, and Recoil Velocity of 27 fps.
If you can't get it done with the above load, you REALLY need a rifle... sofa
275@1500fps: Recoil Energy of 31 foot pounds, and Recoil Velocity of 28 fps.
275@1600:
Recoil Energy of 35 foot pounds, and Recoil Velocity of 30 fps.
Either of these loads would be great on deer to black bear. Wonder if they penetrate enough for brown, or hogs?
430@1350 fps:
Recoil Energy of 54 foot pounds, and Recoil Velocity of 37 fps.
