I've found several different types and brands of primers in Great Falls, MT in the last week. Most places had common powders (not much in the way of 8lb kegs). Brass was outrageously overpriced, but available. Big R had CCI Large Rifle and a few LR Bench Rest, Scheels had Small and Large Remington Bench Rest, and Big Bear had CCI small rifle and mag small rifle primers and small pistol primers. No Federal primers anywhere. Prices were $30-35 per 1000 for standard. BR prices elude me. "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then is not an act, but a habit"--Aristotle (384BC-322BC)

Does anyone have experience with the Wolf primers made in Russia? I would love to buy a brick or 2 but don't want to waster my $'s.

Wolf primers go bang every time I squeeze (never pull) the trigger. They are a littler larger in diameter so they take a little more 'pull' to seat. They were much more attractive at $89/5k a year ago.

Here in Billings, MT things are getting a whole lot better. We at Big Bear have had Large rifle magnum, bench rest large rifle, small rifle, small rifle magnum, small pistol, small pistol magnum, large pistol, large pistol magnum primers for several weeks now. Back orders are starting to come quite regular. These are all CCI however, and Federal are non-existant. We limit sales to one brick a day. Have had no complaints so far. Everyone agrees, let's have some control and get this whole thing over with. Semper Fi

Bought two bricks of CCI400 small rifles yesterday at Carson Armory in Carson City, NV. Took half his inventory. Paid $40 a brick-- twice what they were two yeas ago. Owner says supply will meet demand for all this reloadin' stuff in May 2010...

The line, outside, at the Orange County Gun Show for primers, bullets and powder was about 50 yds. long when I arrived. I did not paticipate as I need non. Small primers were going for $29.00 and there seemed to be no shortage. roger Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! Some never pay and some pay and never reap the reward.
