Does anyone make a loading block with holes big enough for the .45-70? I don't have access to a drill press, otherwise I'd make one out of a 2x4.

Midway has wood blocks for the 45-70 and other rounds. The 45-70 is their size number 8. These cost about $6 each, but there is no shipping and no tax since you don't live in Missouri.

OKshooter,

Glad to see you stopping by. Nice website you have, why don't you put it in your signature?

You don't need a drill press. Drill all the way through 1" stock. Then glue some thin plywood or masonite to the bottom. Makes a flat bottom and the cases stand up straight even though the holes are not perfect.

Just ordered from Midway. For only $6 apiece, it's not worth the hassle to build what would amount to an inferior product.
