Like John Belushi asked in the Blues Brothers,,,,,,,,,,

"How much you want for the girl?" Smiler

I've never tried Canada Goose, just store bought.

Around here they are a nuisance, trashing up some of the parks. One small park has some of the best trout fishing around. But ya can't enjoy yourselves cos a the damn geese.Goose poop everywhere. MadThey get into your lunch, tacklebox and they chase small kids. This last act brings on some great Goose fieldgoals.

I was thinkin' about useing the tried and true 'Liquid Plumber/Foil Balls' in the 2 litre pop bottle stunt. thumb

"your woman, how much for your women, we want to buy them..."

Classic Belushi line, but I love this one better:

"What? Over? It's not over until we say it's over! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? HELL NO! And it ain't over now! Cause when the goin' gets tough, the tough get goin'! Who's with me? Hooooo!"

Merry Christmas, ya'll...

I do wonder why a guy with a user name like yours is reading a site labelled "Small Game hunting" Smiler Aren't you concerned just a little bit about meat damage? Smiler

This past April I hunted jackrabbit in Texas with my .500 NE... Those are some tough sumbitches!!!!!

I hit him at 43 paces with a 570 grain solid and the bugger didn't die right away!

(Actually, we were hunting boars with DRs during the DRSS hunt - PWN375 and NE450No2 wanted to see what a .500 would do to a jackrabbit, so I took the shot.)

When the .577 is completed early next year, I'm hunting mice with that one... Wink

If you get some younger Canadas you just filet out the breasts, cut into two slabs each, marinate for a day or two and grill medium rare. Keep the olive oil and garlic and italian seasoning dressing brushed on the outside. Slice thin and serve with you favorite steak sauce.

Alternatively, pluck and inject all the meat with a mixture of clarified butter and Worcestershire sauce, put into a roasting bag with a cup or two of cheap wine, and cook according to the instructions on the bag.

For the older geese, give them to your cousin in the blind who closes his eyes before he shoots.

Failing that, skin and trim all fat (where the heavy metals accumulate), tenderize, throw in a crock pot with sauer kraut or barbecue sauce, go hunting, come back and serve over German Dark Rye bread or Sourdough bread respectively.

Filet and brown, set in a bed of sauteed carrots, celery, onions in equal parts, diced. Season to taste, add 1 cup water, 1 cup white wine, cover and simmer for 45 min.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

They say that the mark of going crazy is when you laugh out loud -and you're alone. I laughed on reading your post. You didn't mention what lead you used on the jackrabbit. You also didn't mention whether you used aiming sticks. Did the PH say that he would back you up and fire right behind you -or did you ask him to back off and let you shoot that critter all by yourself with your puny little rifle? Smiler

BTW, Merry Christmas to you and yours.

I've always been of the opinion that .577 NE was marginal on the deadly lawn leopard. I'm thinking something along the line of .700 Tyrannasaur for those filthy, stinking beasties. Lord knows you don't want to piss 'em off....

Found some Rasbery/Chipoltle sauce at Sportsmans Warehouse in Boise. Used it to inject some mallards before roasting. Oh, my, God!

Claybuster & DD,
Those are good comfort food recipes as well.
