finally finished the bar in my trophy room, all work done myself....

the main bar is a slab of American Walnut 2.5 inches thick, 30 inches wide, and six feet long. Sink bar is two joined pieces of really nice walnut. Sink is hammered copper, faucet is brass.

Finish is tung oil with epoxy/acetone finish, natural holes filled with clear epoxy. Sides are natural cypress.

So, did I tell you about the time...

Looks like a great place for long drinks and longer stories. Well done!

Chunks of wood like your bar top are popular in Japan, but having one in walnut would be quite rare here. It looks great.

I managed to pick up an old coffee table-type with a 3x4 foot two inch thick slab of magnificent grain mahogany. Four 6x6 inch short legs fit into keyhole slots on the underside of the top. I can only imagine the size of the tree it came from, as you sure can't get them today.

All you need now are a couple of taps for quality craft beer, a nice single malt display and a bunch of us AR members hanging out to swap hunting stories. Heaven in walnut!
