Larry MatherneHey Dom, very sorry to hear about your loss. I was told when I first got in the game, never get attached to a hog dog. That hasn't worked out very well with me, I'm crazy about my dogs. We have loss some good ones this year. A 80# boar? Wow you just never know. Y'all's hogs got some crazy teeth. My catch dog got cut in upper throat area recently, if it had been a bit deeper we would have been in trouble. You can check out the hog that did it in my post "war". He didn't have crazy long tusk, just the short supersharp dog killers so many seem to have here. Stuart's cds got messed up pretty good by the boar in my post "dental equipment", seems we can't get any sows this year, just the dog killers. Why does it always happen to the GOOD ones? The turd eaters last forever.
Oh well, enough of the ranting, I feel for you brother. May you find another, soon, that will shine for you. May you remember the good times you've had with the one you lost. May you see his face smiling at you in your dreams, with the pride that comes from a solid catch.
Aloha Lightning!
God Bless,
Larry

UltraMagThanks Guys!!!
Aloha Larry, Yessir very true statement! For those of us thats been doing this all our lives we know and understand that its part of the game. We also know that every hunt could be thier last and we've made peace with that. But as you said its always hard to see the good ones go down. Especially when you cant do anything for them makes you feel so helpless. We have a saying here thats goes like this "The good ones go down while the scrubs hang around".
He left us with some good up and coming pups so hopefully they will fill thier fathers shoes.
Aloha No,
Dom

Hawaiian_HunterAloha Dom, WOW, what a bummer, deepest condolences and sympathies on your loss. I know it's very difficult losing a good dog but he was doing what he enjoyed the best when he went, we should all be so lucky.
Those are big choppers for a 80 pound pig.

Farrier MattThose are some big teeth for an 80 pound hog! Man I feel for ya, I hate to lose a good dog. My old Catahoula, Fred, is getting pretty long in the tooth, and not getting around too well. It stinks too watch em go downhill, thinks its better to go like yours, doing what we love. Im sorry for your loss. Hope your pups turn into good dogs for ya.

SGraves155Sorry for your loss of a friend.
Those tushes are wide, and I'm sure razor-sharp
But was he 80 lbs or 80 KG?
