| The use of the Weaver adapter permits you to use other companies' rings. Ruger rings are ugly but rugged; just make certain you order the correct height rings for the scope you wish to mount. George |

| Any adapter you add is another point of potential failure, and Georges is right Ruger rings are quite durable and about the same price as Leupold PRW weaver style rings. |

| I think that Leupold also makes a ringmount which mounts directly to the Ruger receiver. |

| The only reason not to use Ruger rings would be if they didn't allow you to mount the scope where you need to for eye relief. |
