loiblbWhat to do to mount a scope
I have Varmint Ruger tang safety .243 that I need to put a scope on. What I found is there is a weaver base adaptor for this rifle.
Or I can order standard Ruger rings. Is there an advantage either way?
Thanks

GeorgeSThe use of the Weaver adapter permits you to use other companies' rings.
Ruger rings are ugly but rugged; just make certain you order the correct height rings for the scope you wish to mount.

QuintusAny adapter you add is another point of potential failure, and Georges is right Ruger rings are quite durable and about the same price as Leupold PRW weaver style rings.

StonecreekI think that Leupold also makes a ringmount which mounts directly to the Ruger receiver.

Sagebrush BurnsThe only reason not to use Ruger rings would be if they didn't allow you to mount the scope where you need to for eye relief.
