I am currently employed as a project manager and engineer for a large construction company. We build dams, roads, airports and such. Spent six weeks traveling in Zimbabwe and Mauritius about ten years ago, can’t wait to go back. I am planning my first safari to Africa next year, can’t wait. My dream is to be able to move to Africa and use my skills in construction to support my hunting habit.

I'm in my 27th year as a police officer, currently assigned as a school resource officer in a high school - best job I ever had!!! I'm thinking about starting a business building cabinet doors and drawers to wholesale to cabinet shops (any info about this would be appreciated!). Sugar Mama . . . er . . . wife is a successful real estate agent. She keeps me in hunting and hobby money. JDS And so if you meet a hunter who has been to Africa, and he tells you what he has seen and done, watch his eyes as he talks. For they will not see you. They will see sunrises and sunsets such as you cannot imagine, and a land and a way of life that is fast vanishing. And always he will will tell you how he plans to go back. 22 years commissioned service, U.S. Army. Basic branch was Military Police. Also served a tour on the faculty at West Point, and was in my additional specialty, Public Affairs, the last five years of my career. Made it to Lt. Colonel and retired in 1991. Since 1991 (and for a few years prior) I have been in the real estate business in Atlanta. Worked for a company, owned my own franchise (never again!), managed new home sales, most recently--until the first of July--was managing broker for one of the largest franchises on the south side of Atlanta. Currently "between jobs" and trying to change careers--applying for teaching positions. Or something. Recently married & we want to move west in 2-3 years, hopefully to Montana. Been to Africa twice--first in 1996, to RSA with 2 of my sons, then in 2002 to Zimbabwe for the youngest's college graduate hunt for Cape buffalo. Would like to go back and show Africa to the bride but that doesn't appear likely anytime soon. Dental/real estate/recently got a gig cutting radio commercial spots, and write a monthly column for a trade journal. The last two are my super secret double low profile (wife doesn't know about them) pocket change. Mark Jackson

Is that "pocket change" being saved for another African hunt? (That she doesn't know about?) Or is it for another gun that she'll ask you about when she sees it? (i.e. How long have you had that? When did you buy that? Why did you buy that? Why do you need another gun? etc. etc.)

Trophy fees. I have a double rifle at the GS. Some will probably go towards that too, but it'll take more than pocket change to finish THAT project. Mark Jackson

Hey, who knows? Your radio gigs might make you very, very famous and then buying that double will just be pocket change.

Assistant District Attorney for the last 14 years. Prior to that I fixed photocopiers, painted houses and worked in food service to pay for school. I certainly don't consider law a career-- just what I do to finance the important things in life, like hunting and feeding my family (which amounts to the same thing in good years!)

I spent 15 years in the insurance business. I got tired of explaining simple financial conceps to snotty ignorant doctors, I figred if these bozoes could be doctors so could I, so I became one at 45 years old. Now I work ER's spending much of my time explaining simple medical thigs to a snotty sleepy specialist and surgeons that I woke up in the middle of the night. I'm not complaining now I have plenty of free time to hunt, fish, shoot and raise my 4 year old Quadruplets 3 girls and 1 boy. "Be carefull what you ask for you just might get it" Dr B
