Dave,
Having dealt up-close and personal with the antis ,their thought patterns on this type of exposure are exactly those of uninformed pre-schoolers, ALL emotion and no thought.

Logic seldom rules the legislative process nor the judiciary ,I fear, at least not in the US.

And yes THEY do wish for ALL animals to die of old age, and NO they do not think of the consequences of starvation.

I disagree that the issues taken up here are due to the quarry being an elephant, the species is irrelevant.

Our children are being taught in public schools DAILY that this is WRONG to do to ANY creature.(I am involved in extra-curricular projects to counter this first hand.)

I can assure you your comment on improving ivory(trophy) quality is a spear to be used against us. There already exist animal rights groups that have proposed the de-tusking of elephants in a manner similar to the rhino de-horning programs.

The "general" public as a whole, at least in the US, does not give a hoot about the ability of a US citizen to hunt in Africa. It is viewed as a rich man's sport and in case you have not noticed, the rich are targets of the Obamination that is controlling US domestic and foreign policy. (Targeted by propaganda if not in actual fact.)

You are still viewing hunting through the eyes of real world experience not the YouTube world of the vast number of voters.

You and I agree perfection is a myth in hunting and though many of us have had one shot kills, while they are not the norm, it should remain a goal.

Follow through on non-vitally struck creatures is seldom pretty and yet it is our responsibility to finish the job as quickly and efficiently as possible; whether that be seconds or days.

Your and my pursuit WILL BE judged by those other than ourselves, NON-HUNTERS and worse, the anti-rich, anti-anything that resembles and individual liberty.

I stick with my opinion, public display of video such as this harms directly ALL hunters.

Choosing not to publish a video such as this on the internet is not HIDING it is prudence, the reasonable man principle, DO NOT give your enemies the club with which to bludgeon you.

I think is is great that Buzz Charlton posted comments on here, as that gives a different perspective than any of us might have had before his comments. However, I do agree with Duggaboye's well thought out comments. I guess that is what I have the most trouble accepting, that this video was posted for the world to see. I bear the hunter no grudge, even though he didn't do a very good job of this. What I do have a problem with is that he gave anyone who desires to see hunting brought to an end material to use for propaganda. WE all realize that this bull expired in a somewhat reasonable amount of time, ANTI's will twist this all around for their own purposes. THAT is my single greatest dis-satisfaction with all of this.
