Our Eagle Creek rolling duffles are now 15 years old and tired. Looking to replace them. Looked on Amazon and there's a newer version but Joyce wisely asked me to consult the vast knowledge of AR to see what you are using and why. Only set criteria is soft sided. Must have the ability to lock the zipper tabs together with a reinforced hole/ o-ring in the duffle fabric to defeat Zim airport thieves. Rolling ability. two wheels are fine. I’ve been happy with my Osprey rolling duffle. Hunting: Exercising dominion over creation at 2800 fps.

I used to use the LL Bean 2 wheeled duffle, and it would last maybe 3-4 trips over before the fabric would get cut. I went to the lightweight pelican hard case suitcase and have not had any issues except that with some regularity it gets put in the firearms area even though it has no guns or ammo. Mark Young had commented on it and it definitely deters thieves better than anything with a zipper. It’s actually about the same weight as the soft sided things, but it’s down side is that it won’t crunch up in a small bush plane like you use in AK. It’s kind of funny, I’ve had the tuffpack with rifles in the ordinary baggage handling and the pelican with my dirty clothes in the CAGPT lane with delta at least 3 times now…

Filson makes a good sized soft 2 wheeled duffle.

I still use Cabela’s duffles after nearly 30 years. Had to make some repairs over the years, but not many. Mike Wilderness is my cathedral, and hunting is my prayer.

I started with the 5.11 soft side then moved to Patagonia. the Patagonia are water resistent and very tough.

+1 I have really enjoyed my Filson wheeled duffle. Classic look and really durable IMO. "The true test of a man's character is what he does when no one is watching". - John Wooden

Honestly, I’ve learn to pack for a 3 week trip so all I need is a carry on- rifle and ammo get checked.

I like Red Oxx. I took a Cabela's duffle on my last trip last month, but it's a little too big and hard to handle.

I'm generally going to charter so I don't like rolling or hard cases other than my guncase. When my wife goes along, she always takes a couple of roller suitcases and that can be an issue.

I also use an Osprey rolling duffle. It collapses or expands as needed, and it made it on the charter. It’s my TufPak I have leave behind

I've had a Cordura-look blue duffle for 16 years. It's at least 24 inches long, has no brand I can see and still works perfectly on about six hunting trips each year. It was not expensive, doesn't weigh much and I credit it much with my being able to get to Africa and back with two heavy rifles and ammo, without needing to pay excess baggage. So, I would suggest looking for one with a good, free-running zip; that's the bit most likely to let you down.
