Time is finally here for my big trip of the year...just finishing packing, but me and 3 others are heading out tomorrow for Niassa in northern Mozambique to hunt with Kambako Safaris. We will overnight at African Sky, fly to Pemba the next day and then charter into camp for a 13 day hunt. I will be concentrating on buff, sable and trying for leopard again! Maybe this time I can get it all to come together just right. Anyway, I am sure we will have a grand adventure in what looks to be a really wild and wonderful part of Africa. I've been looking forward to this one for close to a year, and these last few days have been dragging by. I know they sometimes have internet in camp, if so, I will try to do a few updates on the fly...

Good Hunting,

Tim, you'll love Mozambique, wild like I imagine Africa used to be. Seeing a herd of 20 Sable milling about in a clearing, with the herd bull off at the fringes of the forest standing guard, is a wonderful sight. There are Red Duikers, Blue Duikers, little Suni, and Nyala in plentiful numbers. Probably my favorite safari to date.

I've hunted Niassa and know that you'll love it --

It's abput as close to hunting old East Africa as you can get nowadays.

Good hunting and safe travels Tim. I look forward to your hunting report when you get back!
