For the first time ever since receiving these videos on USB through the mailbox, the Tanzanian Post Office has this time sent me a Package Arrival Advice for it to be collected at the "parcels" window.

I'll go tomorrow and see what crap they are going to try and feed me with.

That is precisely what I was expecting!

I had to wait for almost an hour for the envelope to be retrieved (found) and then had to pay the astronomical figure of TZS 1,500 (approx. USD 0.70) because of the oversize envelope which according to the clerk would not fit in the box.

Unbelievable!!

On a different note, thank you again for your kind gesture - I am viewing the second of the drone series - impressive clarity and detail.

Glad you finally got it.

We are flying over the northern part of Europe on our way to Toronto, and I am trying to take some photos from the air as it is such a beautiful sunny day, but below us is all cloud cover!!

I thought of taking some photos as if I was in drone! clap

Jan Mayen is just below us, but we cannot see it.

Hello Saeed,

My video came today in Tennessee. Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness. I cannot wait to get started watching and hope to see many buffalo hit the dust.

With very kindest regards and thanks,

Nothing here (the big town of Bitely Michigan), I sent a PM the first day but nothing at this point yet. I'll wait a few more days and then send another request. Maybe the Mail Man is watching it now?

I do everything at home, and ALAN does everything in TANZANIA.

We have to book our flights by March or earlier, otherwise seats are not available!

I load all the ammo sometime in the summer or early September.

This is it.

Funny system, but it works.

The thing is taking all organizing out of Walter’s hands.

Or we might end up in the North Pole instead! clap

Seriously is it that bad? He must have his use or you would not have kept him around?

Do you play with the loads or are they a tried and tested formula so you just load exactly the same each year?

I have developed enough loads for these rifles, no need for any further work as I use the same bullet.

Basically I change the design of the bullet to meet certain requirements.

Years ago when we hunted mostly single bulls, my bullet design was for maximum penetration.

For that I used a 2mm hollow point that was around 9mm deep.

With these bullets I have shot a buffalo in the rear leg by the tail, the bullet penetrated the length of the body, crossways, and lodged in the neck under the skin on the other side.

Now most of our hunting is in herds, so to avoid any unnecessary pass through and wound another one, I have changed to 2.5mm hollow point and about 12-15mm deep.

These bullets exit on broadside shots, sometimes, so we do have to make sure nothing behind what we are shooting.

But will not exit if the buffalo is quartering.

This system works, and we stick to it.

If traveling with firearms was not such a hassle, I would love to take a dozen rifles and try them.

Sadly, that is not the case, so we stick with what works, and just concentrate on having a great time.

When does the 2018 trip start ?

And don't forget to remind Walter to take his malaria tabs on time !

In South Africa there is a saying.
"Passop die boer met een roer""

This translated means beware the farmer with one rifle. They get to know it so well that they can use it to shoot anything at any distance. (Obviously certain limitations apply) Do you feel that is the same with you that the rifles you have developed are the ones you will use if you were restricted to only one?

Have you used them so much that you could shoot at any distance or do you still practice at the range to make sure you know where it prints at different distances?

I never practice with my hunting rifles.

In fact, apart from load development, I never shoot them except on a hunt.

I think years of experience comes in handy.

I have been shooting as long as I can remember.

In fact, I doubt we had many days we did not shoot.

I have shot animals with this rifle at varying distance, to probably close to 500 yards.

Frankly, I do not like shooting at any animal past 200 yards, but, when the need arises I do.

Again, here is where experience and knowing your rifle comes in handy.
