One of the disadvantages of getting older is losing long time friends. One of the pleasures of getting older is the memories old friends provide.
Walter made life a bit better for the many of us who never met him. Thankyou.
RIP

I have not been on AR much these days but waiting for Ms AZW to finish some Amazon orders before we got out for a hike in one of my elk areas and figured I would check in. What a shock.

RIP Walter.

I am very sorry to hear the passing of Walter. Like most here, I have never met him but he was an inseparable part of this forum and its content. Always enjoyed the anecdotes involving him. Rest in peace, Walter.

Saeed, my sincere condolences to you for your loss of a great friend.

Respectfully-
RoL.

We had a memorial service for him last week.

He was cremated as per his request, and his ashes were put in the sea off Dubai, again, as he requested.

Did you get to speak at the memorial, Saeed? If so, what stories did you tell? If you did, I can just imagine. . . . Big Grin

He must have gotten a wonderful farewell. May we know how old Walter was? I remember that he was an Olympic Skeet shooter for Germany. Do tell us about him if that is okay.

A close friend of his did give a short speech.

I thought of saying something, but was persuaded not.

Too many sensitive people at the church.

He was 76.

Condolences. That's too young. Will miss his comments, but I'm sure not as much as you will miss his presence. I hope he has fair winds.
