Aaron,
Congrats on your new job. My only gripe about TWSA was that it was, at times, "stuffy." I think that you will put a more "dynamic" face on what was already a great show, balancing that with the proper amount of respect for the animals taken. If you succeed, perhaps you can also convince the "money boys" that outdoor television doesn't have to be a 30 minute infomercial for the sponsors.

Tim & Others, thanks alot for the good words guys!

We'll do our best to bring a show that everyone enjoy's watching, first/foremost.

Secondly, as we all know - without sponsors we have NO outdoor television. So yes, we all recognize the need to avoid a 30-minute infomercial, but at the same time, we must respect those that make it possible for us to bring good hunting television to viewers in the first-place. However, we will strive to do it professionally - and not cram it down the viewer's throat. Hopefully we can do so, and high-light great outdoor tv at the same time!

The change will begin starting July 1, 2013. I hope you all will tune-in.

Aaron, this is your official welcome to the "money boy's club!" Our duffle bag of gun stickers and patches is in the mail. Our new rule is that at least of 75% of your body must be covered by either patches or stickers. If you opt to have a major sponsors logo tattood on your neck or arms, we will pay for it. Just hope the sponsor stays on board.. tattoo removal is quite painful I hear! Tell your banker to brace himself, you are about to be moneyed up brother.Yaahooo...

That's funny, I think I missed all the "moneyed up" talk in our contract negotiations??? I knew my lawyer sucked!!!! I should have called a real "safari-lawyer", maybe he could have gotten me the kind of dough a real host deserves - especially one who's already tattooed "Trijicon" on his GIRLFRIEND'S back Eeker

It always amazes me how guys evidently think the shows are being produced with sponsors' money out of their goodness of heart desire to entertain the viewers at large. The fact that sponsorship is a business decision whereby the companies have weighed the cost of production against the expected return from exposure to their products seems to be lost on some. It's a bit like buying the entire back page of a magazine for the purpose of placing an advertisement, then placing an add that only takes up 1/4 of the back page for fear of offending someone who objects to product advertisement in magazines. It really isn't rocket science. Without the ads, there is no show!

I go around at the DSC conv. thanking the folks that sponsor the hunting shows that I watch. Without them there would be NO hunting shows for me to watch.
Regarless of how many people watch, if no one advertises, the show goes away.

Bwana - Man, you've hit the nail on the head.

Guys, you oughta try being the guy in front of the camera! Being responsible for good hunting TV, and sponsor considerations, is not easy. But Dave/Tim, have hit it out of the park with the show sponsors.

Look, the fact is - I genuinely like/prefer the products that sponsor this particular show.

1. Leica is our bino/spotting scope sponsor - well, just look at my past DVD's/trophy pics and see how long I've been using Leica binos. Fact is, I started using them in 2007, and I haven't looked back since. Leica's Geovids are as far as I know, the original "range-finding" bino, and to date, they can't be beat.

2. Honestly, Dave Fulson got me started on Trijicon scopes roughly 2 yrs ago - long before they offered me the job of "host". Since then, I wouldn't use anything else - period! Frankly, Trijicon is the BEST rifle scope I have ever used - and I've used em all, period! The illuminated reticles, without battery power - is simply the best innovation in rifle scopes that I have ever seen. Great for low-light conditions (African Cat hunts - and I know a little about that) and LEGAL in states like mine (CO) that do not allow battery powered scopes of any kind. As is common all across the west.

And the list goes on - Ruger, DSC, Boyt, Hornady, etc. Its easy to get behind products that are top-quality, but doing it with a great level of professionalism is not as easy as it looks.

Fact is though, the best thing you can do is - support the companies that support the hunting/tv shows you enjoy watching. If TAA/World of Sports Afield are shows you enjoy, then support their sponsors the best you can.

Thank you very much,

Aaron Neilson

Have you been issued your red oxx bags??

In all seriousness, I agree with Bwana Cecil. I couldn't care less about the sponsor plugs. I really enjoy the shows. I basically get to watch them for free. So why not??

And you lot think you are actually part of the rest of teh world?

The REAL world is connected together, from China to France and Scandinavia.

Any part that is seperated by water is not part of it.

All one has to do is how they are.

Just look at the Americans- seperated by the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans.

They have produced California for God's sake! Can you do any worse than that?

And you lot down under - you have very short memory it seems - don't you lot remember that your ancestors were hand picked by British judges? sofa

Well, it is Festive Season and one has to remember all his friends! rotflmo

There is absolutly no common sense answer for Commifornia.
The only way I can explain it is that the earth tilted at one time & all of the loose screws & nuts rolled that way.

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......
