This leopard certainly appears to be in the top 3% of Trophydom. I have a very few pictures of leopards of this class. Congratulations on a fantastic hunting accomplishment.

It seems to me that you have a very similar pose with two full grown gentleman sitting behind a eland bull. It is an advertisement on your website. So I am confused as to the critisicm you are giving the picture because they seem to be very similar in nature. Please explain!
Thanks

Kudu,
Thanks for referring to this picture. Your post indeed shows the difference in "same plane/scale" than not, and how easy it is to move a person back 3-4 feet and make the animal look larger.

Both of these gentleman have their hands ON the eland, as you can clearly see Rob's hands on the horns, Chris has his hands on the shoulder. In fact, IIRC, Both guys are knealing and their knees are all BUT touching (Chris's may have been) .. and they are actually holding the eland in position. I made the remark, when I took this picture, to NOT get away from the critter.

IIRC, Rob's about 5'8, and Chris may be 5'10.. and the eland is HUGE. Rob took the eland, Chris followed up on it

So, I see this as an honest picture. The guys are RIGHT ON the eland bull, more or less in contact.

Thanks for bringing this picture up, as it shows how a picture can be "dumb honest" and the animal still look amazing.

Here is yet another "no BS" picture, with the guy clearly in the same plane

Here's another picture, meant specifially NOT to overstate the animal.

John,
interesting.. I never made even the slightest "attack" on the huntress, but if that's your opinion on it, then I can see where you would be upset. <reviewing my posts> .. Hmm, don't see where I said anything negative about anything BUT the photographic style. In fact, I went out of my way to NOT say a thing negative about the huntress.

Sorry if you are upset, but I beleive you are reading into the comments made.

"Disrespectful, Deceitful, Dishonest"

Not a "slightest attack". How are those words not negative?!

I think people should be more positive and respectful to others too. A good guide is to imagine having those sorts of things said to you about your trophy photos. Also if one would say those sorts of things to someones face.

Just because this is the internet doesn't mean basic values shouldn't apply.

Anyway my last words on this thread. I think it is a lost cause.

John,
Taken out of context, YES.. NO.. GOOD have no meaning, either. Yes, the lady was NOT in the slightest insulted, attacked, etc etc etc.

Why don't you take a few seconds, read what *I* posted, not what was read into it, and understand EXPLICITY that neither the leopard or the huntress where in ANY way maligned.

Besides, it's rather hard for the leopard (no thumbs and dead) or the huntress (in the picture) to execute the picture.

Here's the post

I find pictures exaggerating to be disrespectful of the animal. I asked for an honest photo, to appreciate the animal has it grew, and chrise it. Pictures that dont accurately record the animal are not, imnsoho, are disrespectful and somewhat disonest.

Jealousy? Ignorance? Hardly, but you are welcome to your opinion. Please reread my posts on the subject, this is an exceptional, perhaps unique animal. I find the pictures overstating the animal(and there's a certain amount of irony for this coming from a Texan) to be, well, distasteful.

Cheers

I agree, basic courtesy should be extended. i haven't said a word that I wouldn't say to a person's face, directly, and in context, in this entire thread. You have read quite a bit into what I've said, or taken the words from context, I would ask that you just try to read what I am saying, not something that you would choose to react to.

I still don't know without being there how sure anyone can be that she was FEET behind the leopard.

When I see it, it doesn't look at all to me like a staged picture to make the cat look better. With the size of the cat, think how far the camera person had to be away to get all of it in the lense?

You'd have thought someone posted one of these...
