505, Forgive me as I see you have much more experience than do I on this forum but, what a low class thing to do or infere about a true american hero. If you are not an American I may understand a bit. Nganga Formerly "Nganga"

Dogcat, probably not for eleven months or so. I am going to have a Taxidermy/Shipping/Customs bill close to Five-Grand to cover by Christmas. I am starting the "bucket list 2011" though. Eland Zebra Blesbok triple play (white, brown, and the bronze/copper. We saw fresh Leopard tracks one morning, that will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up and send just a little shiver up and down your spine. Primordial response to something that has been killing and eating humans for millenia? Probably Namibia in 2012. Writing this, I feel so blessed by God to be able to consider the next couple of years. Regards, Rich DRSS

Actually, fairgame, I am American, You originally stated that you would be hunting with Sgt. Alan Waddel as you can see where I quoted you above (I mistakingly placed another L on the end), now you say the gentlemans name is "Wardel", I apologize but I don't know him either. I would guess by Nganga's quote he was involved to some degree in the Mogadishu incursion. There were many involved in that fight and I remember it well, although I do not know all of those involved, It was a horrible dark time in our history. I do know a Gentleman named John Waddell who was a Ranger in the Mogadishu battle. I would be interested to hear the second hand story of anyone you know who was involved. Now Nganga, for you, there is no reason to request forgiveness due to someone elses "experience" on this forum as that or lack there of proves or negates nothing. If you are stating that Sgt. Wadell or Waddel ar Wardel is an American Hero, I would love to hear that story, but you will have to excuse me as I do not know that part of the story. I posted a question about the only Alan Waddell I know who is a gentleman who promoted health in Sidney Australia by walking through all the streets of that city. The "trophy fee" question was tongue in cheek as fairgame stated that he "will have the pleasure of hunting a man named Sgt. Alan Waddel". As for your statement to the level (low) of my "class", don't be so bold to think you know anything about me by what you mistakingly read into my post. And as previously stated to fairgame, I am American and really don't care whether you understand a lot, a bit or not at all. I see you are new to this forum so I will make a statement that you can believe now or find out on your own as I did, this forum is full of blowhards who love to "prove" their patriotism by jumping down the throats of anyone they perceive to question anyone who has been in the military. This bravado is usually followed by threats of violence or "firsthand" stories about the horrors of war and the sacrifices they made. What they don't realize is that there are those here who have actually experienced these things either personally or second hand (if you would actually call it that) with ones they love dearly, and those people know that it is not something you speak of lightly on some forum.

505, Read, absorbed, no comment required. I never served so I feel no need to threaten anybody here, I'm just a proud patriot. Formerly "Nganga"

505, I would suggest a slight reconsideration of phrasing might be in order. Mogadishu was a really terrible time for US soldiers. I take my hat off to those who were there. As a combat soldier I have seen some of what they endured, and as you have mentioned; it is not spoken of lightly. It took me more than ten years to even begin to share what I was involved in with family. I know enough of you to understand that you meant no disrespect, some new members do not. What's the old Crosby, Stills & Nash song: "teach your children well..."? regards, Rich DRSS

Rich, Beautiful Kudu and I am green with envy over the Caracal. I remember telling my PH on my first trip that I would like a Caracal and him telling me not to get my hopes up. DSC Life Member NRA Life Member

ISS - great Kudu. 505 - Shit we now have both got it wrong - Waddel. He is based in Lusaka and I met him a couple of weeks ago. Although the name was familiar it was only afterwards that a mate of mine informed me who he was and what he had done. I bought him a drink and a safari.
