These are not disney lions.

What we got was actually worse.

Total darkness, 3 men in a lion blind made of very thin fabric, and a mad lion trying to smash it to bits!

We had two rifles, but, we hesitated in firing a shot at him, trying to avoid creating a more dangerous situation by creating a wounded lion ib very thick bush.

We did eventually fire a shot through the roof of the blind, which brought our truck back.

Even then, the lion refused to leave any distance between us and him.

Next afternoon we sat in the same blind, and as soon as he came to the bait he looked straight at us.

That was the last ting he did.

That sounds more exciting than I would want. I would want a fat pulled wheel gun or a howdah one that situation. What about a shotgun set up?
