Finally heading to Botswana on Thursday to hunt with Greg Butler in his concession bordering the Chobe. Flying into Vic Falls which is something I am excited about because I have not seen the falls yet. I am accompanying a client on his Elephant hunt as his photographer. If he shoots early I may get a non-trophy ele bull, otherwise I will be after Kudu, wildebeest and Eland. Seems like I have too much to do tomorrow but the excitement of Africa is really making it tough to sleep! I will keep you guys posted on the outcome of the hunt as soon as I return!

See the falls from the Zim side; then WITH your passport walk across the bridge to the Zambian side and see the other side....totally different and the difference in the economies and park visitation will floor you. Then, if time allows take the short heli tours to appreciate the overview. Well worth it . The Vic Falls Hotel is a bit worn but still grand....great staff and food. Look for Sable, buff and the big Ground Hornbills enroute to Botswana from Vic. Enjoy. Jim

Greg,

Enjoy the Falls. The water will probably be too high at this time of year, but if you ever get back, have lunch on Livingstone Island. This is an experience that stays with you forever.

If you get a chance do lunch on Livingston Island. Not cheap, but it's worth it to have lunch at the edge of the Falls.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

Greg,
Good luck on you safari and drink in all Botswana has to offer. Who is your PH with Greg Butler? If it is Gareth Flemix you got a good one and tell him Paul Reed says hello.

Safe travels,
Paul

I leave for ATL at noon tomorrow. Thanks for the best wishes guys, it's going to be an excellent safari! Paul, Greg is going to be conducting our safari, but Gareth will be in the area (I have to take him a tip from one of our other clients). I will tell him you said hello!
