Please note: I have just posted the correct address for the Comfort Inn in Dallas. This is THE CI we hold a block of rooms at, and, where we have our Saturday night AR party. Please be advised; the correct addy is Stemmons Freeway! I have just now posted the details (found on page 3).

OK Sportsfans, accommodations are available now for next years show. DSC members should have received an email announcing the details. Mike/Frank; did we have enough room at Comfort Inn? I heard a few were turned away due to the place being booked? If we are going to return to Comfort, we should start thinking about it, at least in the long term. Otherwise, there are several Hotels within walking distance of the Convention Center.

DSC has reserved a large "block" of rooms at the Hyatt again this year and at other nearby hotels (most are within easy walking distance), a person can go the the DSC website or email Jaimey at info@biggame.org for more information. I have already booked my room at the Hyatt via the DSC website and spoken with the hotel to make sure it was received and was told that quite a few rooms have already been booked.

David, to be very frank for the AR party to move from the CI would make the Sat party VERY expensive. We can do our own thing at CI downtown you must do their thing ie buy from them. Maybe everyone can't stay at the Inn but if we get started early, I made my res in the fall of the year and had no problem and also ask them for 20 room block fpr AR. Many did not try to book until late so yes they may have had a problem. I do believe if AR wanted to get the committments and the monies up front we could get the whole Inn.

I'm only 28 hours from catching the freedom bird that will return me to the United States from Iraq. One of the things I'm looking forward to is attending the DSC event in 2011 (this year, got mortared during the days of the event). I will immediately put my name on any list necessary for the CI rooms.

I just blocked 25 rooms for the 5th thru the 8th of Jan. Tell them you are with Accurate Reloading. This rate may be a bit more than thru one of booking co. but they give us the meeting room free and complete access to their kitchen which for those of us putting this togeather it is worth the extra bucks. Maybe the admin could hold this at the top of the forum, please!

Guysand Gals,

For those wanting to be closer to the action DSC has a large block of rooms reserved at the Hyatt. It is more expensive than some places but there is a shuttle to the show and you are in the middle of lots of good restaurants etc. Rate is $159. I made a reservation today.

I'd like to extend an invitation to any AR member wanting to seriously discuss a hunt to meet with me at the hotel. The first adult beverage is on me.

You are correct. Dallas is in the process of getting one built. Bond issue passed, I think ground has been broken. Doubt that it will be ready by the 2011 DSC convention. Problem in Dallas is as previously stated, most hotels want you to buy their food and their booze! I think we are better staying where we are.

Thanks Ed, I'm booked. However, Nick wasn't in so a young lady took my reservation. She wasn't aware of our group, but gave me the AR discount and I asked her to have Nick call me just in case. I should receive my confirmation soon. FYI: to those that haven't booked with CI before, once you get your confirmation, I would suggest you call and verbally confirm again. There have been a few that arrived to find they weren't in the CI system.
Follow up: Last night I received confirmation. $89 per night.

Now that we have the motel sorted out and the Sat party we need to get started on the Fri eve get togeather. The BBQ joint is nice but maybe we could get a change there. We did Pappas's seafood 2 yrs and now their BBQ joint 2 yrs, maybe we could work with them on their Mexican joint. Some of us have eaten there and found it to be a nice place with good food. The location is basically the same as their restaurants are all located within a stones throw of each other. Thoughts?

Sounds great to me. Maybe we could take a few minutes to introduce ourselves at our next dinner? We did that 3 years ago at the seafood restaurant. I know we usually read about who was there the following week and it seems we never knew some of our AR friends were sitting one table over. I'm in for the Mexican food.

I would really like taking time for each person to stand up and introduce themselves. I recall doing that at the seafood restaurant. Lots of AR folks are at DSC every year and you don't even know who they are.

This may be lame (and likely discussed b4), but why dont all you attending AR members get a distinguishing mark on your person stating AR membership? maybe a ball cap, patch etc. Make it classy(ish)looking.

Having never been to this or any other show,
I've often wondered how all you folks that have never met, know what the hell to look for (except for Mark...hard to mistake Big Grin).
I'd think its not easy to walk up to folks and say "hey are you on AR?"

I would like to have a plastic clip on type name tag with an AR logo on it and both our on line name and our real name. I have one that I had made with the DSC logo and my name that I usually wear to the monthly DSC meetings and the convention when I remember to find it! I don't know if Saeed would allow an individual to have the AR logo put on a tag? I would probably pay to have one made up just to wear once a year, or maybe to SCI too. I have the problem with stick on name tags always falling off. And yes, indeed I have walked up to people before and asked "are you from AR?"

Maybe we should start a thread for "Who wants an AR button?" and start a list of those who would like to buy an AR button to wear at not only DSC but SCI or any event where AR members are attending. If you visit the AR Store, there is an 800 number and a large product line available.
Nice store Saeed!

I vote for Mexican and the introductions. In my dotage, I appreciate a "re-start" in remembering folks.
