Review:
The 2009 edition is the best yet of the "Saeed Safari" series.
Production qualities are excellent.
Glitch free in replay on the PC.
I would happily pay for that quality of viewing experience if I could find it at the local Gander Mountain store or order it from Safari Press.
Of course Walter's farting scenes might need some editing for the commercial DVD.
But Walter might figure prominently if Gary Larson should come out of retirement to do a "SaFARi SIDE" cartoon series.

Bwana Saeed trumps Bwana Moja in safari scenery, atmosphere, naturalist documentary, and action footage.
Bwana Saeed trumps Santa Claus in my stocking.

Well, that is the "shortly" review I said would be along shortly.
I could type for hours about the details, such as the included videography of a pack of ganyanas, etc., but I do not want to give away too much, so I am keeping it "shortly."

Thank you, thank you very much, Saeed.

Happy Holidays!

Rip

I am just curious as to which cartridge is Roy using in the open sighted rifle? In the vid,we hear him say that he is shooting 550 grainers-I guess that he is shooting Woodleigh FMJ's or RN's.

Thanks for that narration/enrichment, Canuck.

And your PH backing you up on the buffalo,
his DR was what make and chambering?
He had to use it on that second buffalo of yours, eh? Wink

That was brand spanking new Heym 500NE. Nice rifle.

He did unleash it on my first buffalo, but did not really connect, during a part of the sequence that did not make it on the DVD (between my second shot and third shot on the DVD it actually struggled back to its feet...Paul took a quick offhand snap-shot with his 500NE and grazed a rear leg (and its scrotum!), while I shot off the sticks and broke its hip, dropping it again).

On the second buffalo, Paul fired no shots. You saw all of the shots on that one...my first shot quartering-to beside the tree hit it square through the heart. We ran after it only about 50 yards and after it went around in a half circle and fell behind the herd enough that it was clear I gave it the second one...midway up the body behind the shoulder...then it went behind some brush and went down. We walked up and after trying to straighten Saeed's trigger for the second time, I gave it the coupe de grace at about 10 paces. That was it.

Sorry, I was confused a bit, but seven or eight hours of video overstimulation of my medulla oblongata does that to me sometimes ... details get mixed up.
Also, I view and post to this forum in my sleep sometimes. Wink

Or maybe Walter did the editing of your buffalo hunts.

However, glad to hear your first of those two buffalo scrota is going to make a great joojoo bag now, what with a 500 Nitro Express bullet hole in it.

Gentlemen,

I have been away since the 17th of this month, and just got back yesterday evening.

I had 17 envelops addressed before I left - I ran out of DVDs!!? and when I got back I found that many of our members did not read my post that the offer was only for one week! And many more PM requests were received for these DVDs.

Well, being the festive season, I will send out the DVDs to those who have requested them anyway, despite the deadline.

So far we have shipped almost 700 sets!! lol

We have never dreamed there would be as much demand for them!

I just hope you all enjoy them, and would appreciate any feedback you might have.

I've watched most of one DVD and really like them. The quality is outstanding. At my age I may not get to Africa but my day dream engine is fully fueled. Again a huge Thank You to Saeed and although I know there had to be a lot of work to putting them together, I hope there is precedent established that interest in hunting adventures on video is high. I had to call my son to learn how to back the DVD up so I could watch Walter's farting sequence several times. I laughed so hard I almost did an injury. Best of the holidays to all.

Yah, I should have saved that one. Smiler 500NE does leave a pretty big hole!
