Ok, here it is. I contacted F of A, and recieved quite a nasty response. So several e-mails back and forth later, I just quit. I know what you're thinking, but I kept my outgoing mail very professional and politically correct.
So I just got off of the phone with the producers of Deltas SKY magazine. They were very apologetic and I was told that the ad would no longer be ran in their magazine. Apparently the ad was a public announcement filler because they had a corner of a page to fill. The lady I visited with said that she never paid attention to what the ad contained and that she was happy I had called. To be victorious, one must not be afraid to step out......wapiti7

Congrats! Thanks for pressing the issue, instead of just complaining about it. I think the rest of us could take a page from that book.

"Oh please, there are more scimitar horned oryx in Texas hunting ranches than there are in nature. That you cant see the ethics involved in this issue is pitiful. My hat is off to you Wapiti.

We have the same problem with NOAH over here. They wrote on an page for hunters ans shooters , many pages filled woth BS, about everybody going oing over to be veggis , and that was including our pets aswell.....

A little bit less trophy hunt was good, and hunting free zones for people to watch how the nature was without hunting.

You have won a battle in the war. congrats

hammering So if I'm right Mrs bunny sh@**er is advocating that it would be alright for us 'male apes' to go and kill silver back gorrilas and other endangered male apes as this would be a 'rival' killing and not sport hunting as with the Bambi type animals. I think this silly woman needs to go out get drunk and get LAID. killpc

Underneath the ad is a more sinister move by the anti's. FYI: there has been a movement by the anti's to stop all commercial activity of the Scimitar Oryx. Under the guise of protecting a "rare" animal, the real purpose is to win in court to prohibit the hunting of "ranched" Oryx, or the bottom line: stop all hunting and raising of animals to be hunted. There was a big stink in Oregon (I believe it was) to stop a guy who was offering hunts for Sika Deer on his private property. I apologize for not remembering the details but there has been some vigorous activity by the anti's to stop hunting one species at a time and the Simitar Oryx was their poster boy. LDK

Mr Keith, this attack also included the Addax. The Texas land owners defeated this push if I remember correctly. Reguardless of how people feel, Texas game ranches have saved and flourshed many species. (ie. addax, scimintar horned oryx, black buck, pierre david etc......)

wapiti7, I support TX in their efforts. Started hunting exotics years ago and will visit your fine State this fall to hunt Fallow Deer. I have scored a number of exotics for the Records of Exotics book when I practiced Taxidermy. If indigenous game animals can't or won't be managed by their home country, by all means someone step in and save them. Look what happened to all the T-Rex's...now none of them are around Big Grin

Rumour has it that the antis are stoking up a campaign to get all hunting of animals enclosed by a fence, banned.
They consider the "canned lion" fiasco as the thin end of the wedge, and are now considering ways to drive the wedge deeper.

First off, let me say hats off to Wapiti for carrying the fight to 'em. The best defense is always a good ofense!!!

In regards to the above quote, that is is the reason I always will fight to the death for the rights of anoyone to do a canned hunt even though I would not even consider doing it myself.

Well done to Wapiti.

The email also shows the class of what the person that wrote it is.

I never can understand (actually I do) why the "great" proponents of nature and the "Earth" live and work in the midst of large modern cities. Surely totally hypocritical. Cities are the greatest examples of a nature sterile environment or a "nature desert". If they truly believe what they claim to represent, why aren't they living by example?
