GlobalAntiHunting — May 10, 2010 — These photos brought out so much outrage and anger from facebook people. How do these lowlife human garbage feel so damn proud to murder such beautiful creatures and some of these animals can be well on their way to extinction. The people who run these kind of 'Big game" killing are the same people that have control over sports hunting in America by the using the lies of "conservation". Please do read the link

And I bet that all these same "outraged" people are sitting by their computer munching on a Big Mack. Totally oblivious that what they are eating was a live cow a couple of months ago.
Yep, typical hypocracy of the ignorant!

Greg BrownleeI looked at the youtube video and had to chuckle at the one guys comments about how it was incriminating evidence showing pictures of all these "poached animals"?? Where do these guys get their info?! I suppose from youtube videos like this.

shakariI've gotta say I reckon we're our own worst enemies where YouTube is concerned.
It's hardly a secret that the vast majority of the general public have no idea of the contribution hunting makes to the game populations etc and nor is it any secret to us that most of the general public suffer from a high degree of Walt Disney syndrome.
So why oh why do so many otherwise sensible, intelligent hunters continue to try to boost their own egos and pursue self glorification by posting their hunt videos on public places like YouTube!
(IMO) YouTube and our own vanity will be the end of sport hunting in Africa and we'll only have ourselves to blame.

shootawayThe way I see it,many wild animals in the world today, along with the land they inhabit, belong to the hunting community and the rest have lost theirs.
14 June 2010, 19:47
jsl3170how do they square their beliefs with the fact that were it not for hunters before them, including their own families, they would not be alive today?
the moose my wife will shoot this fall will one day die one way or another. if it dies by her hand its flesh will feed many hungry people this upcoming winter. if it dies in the woods, it will feed many other hungry wild animals this winter or the next.
what is the difference? so long as the animal is used wisely where is the problem?
14 June 2010, 20:12
GrenadierThe video is a presentation by an animal rights group that wants to ban all hunting including deer, quail, and pheasant. They have skillfully put together this collage to prick emotions and get people to support their misguided cause. They exploit any instance of illegal hunting to portray the entire hunting community as brutal and unlawful. Their goal is to elevate animals to the same status as people. These extremists won't be satisfied till every mouse trap is banned and meat is outlawed.

Yea, while wearing leather shoes, leather belt, carrying leather purse or wallet, and arriving in a car with leather seats.
Friggin' hypocritical morons.
Remember the moto that went something like, "A mouse is a dog is a pig is a boy." From PETA, the group caught euthanizing dogs and cats they promised to find homes for. Not that I have a huge problem with euthanizing unwanted or stray cats and dogs, but according to their own expressed beliefs, they euthanized the equivelent of a couple hundered boys.

L. David KeithJust like the HSUS TV ads; poor, starving, neglected kitties and puppies. Sad eyes fill the television screen. Yet for only $19 USD per month, you can single handedly SAVE all those starving, mistreated, abused, unwanted creatures! Yeah, Bull Chit! HSUS has absorbed many anti groups such as Friends of Animals, Fund for Animals, this, that and the other to become a front for Anti-Hunting. Wayce Parcelle himself is their present king and annually, they only donate about $400,000 of their multi-million TV grub stake. Salaries and perks run high in the anti groups. Also, more amazing to me is this clown's facts. Where does this idiot come up with photo safaris far exceeding hunting revenue? Photo safaris were the savior of Kenya....yeah right

Greg BrownleeMaybe I did the math wrong, but if each safari brings in an average of $44,800 and they have 30 safari clients, then thats over $1.3 million, not $448,000 like they stated. Even doing it with their math, taking $44,800/14 days = $3,200 per "bed night" and multiplied by 420 bed nights that =$1,344,000. Seems they did different equations for the hunting vs. the Photographic.

shakariAaron,
I can actually understand why people do it and I'm sure most of it is done with the best of intentions but without meaning to criticise anyone, I reckon it's a mistake and one day it'll come back to bite us in the arse...... esp the dodgy ones like that doped up lion with the bowhunter that didn't know which way was up that was going the rounds a year or two ago.

larryshoresIn today's paper here in Orlando there is a letter to the editor about what this woman viewed in an aquarium in the airport. Basically what she saw was some fish attempting to eat a hermit crab!
You would have believe the descriptive language she used. One this think that these fish were pure evil for simple trying to eat.
These people are amazing.

Gerhard, very nice shot boettie! I know impala are notorious for 'jumping the string' due to their lightning reflexes, but that one was toast...or roast I should say! Nothing wrong with posting a good hunt. Some people are always going to be offended and obviously on youtube/facebook there is always going to be a horde of antis around. You are never going to be able to say or do anything to try and convince them that hunting is an enjoyable past-time and way of life for some people and many animals. Imagine telling a lion that he could no longer hunt, because it was barbaric and offensive to many!
I see that a family whose two toddler twins were savaged by a fox here in the UK are requiring police protection because some animal rights groups (not sure which) could not believe a fox would maul a small, defenceless human or animal. It is a very rare occurrance, and I am glad that both toddlers are ok, and fortunately the parents were alerted to the commotion, although it must obviously have been shocking for the poor family. How traumatic it must be for this poor family to firstly have to deal with a bold, brazen, opportunistic fox that attacked their kids and then having to deal with all the hate and threats from animal rights groups as well afterwards who refuse to believe that Basil Brush could be responsible! This sort of situation has never really happened before (there is no rabies here either), but a fox, just like a jackal is a very opportunistic animal skillful hunter and with these animals losing all fear of humans in an urban environment, one should expect things like this to happen, it is a wild animal after all!

Michael RobinsonThere are some excellent trophies in that slide show.
Congratulations to the featured hunters!
But somehow I think that maybe I was supposed to get a different message???

Seriously, there are so many falsehoods and half-truths in that anti-hunting polemic that one hardly knows where to start the rebuttal.

That chart gives the most clearly presented data on the value of trophy hunting vs photo safaris I've ever seen. I must've read hundreds of reports and could never find anything quite that clear. I was always having to find, sort and analyze the data myself and could never come up with anything quite that clear.
According to the bibliography, the data was prepared by Dr. Rolf D. Baldus, who's been doing these studies for years, mostly for the CIC if I remember correctly.
His personal website is
http://www.wildlife-baldus.com and he has dozens of reports here
http://www.wildlife-baldus.com/tanzania.html and here
http://www.wildlife-baldus.com/selous_game.htmlThe data is probably embedded in there somewhere. If you find it, please post it.
The best I could come up with so far is the same data as above, but thru 2003 - here (about half-way down):

Hmm.
Of course they are outside the US.

I disagree. There is no reason to hide in the shadows what we enjoy doing, what we have in our genes.
Remember, the ones with the distorted view aren't the hunters, its the anti-hunters.
Or maybe think of it this way, if a gay pride parade is going to be deemed acceptable for public display, then a man or woman hunting damn sure needs to be.
