Hi Phil

Bill Hober from swift sent me two boxes of the very first batch of 286grn 9,3's he made a couple of months back. They are much more accurate than the old 250grn (which are also swaged down .375 bullets)

haven't shot anything with them yet but have a lion hunt staring on 4th December...maybe...

He also sent me some preliminary 535grn A frames in .505" and .510 which is good news for those with Gibbs or Jeffery rifles. I haven't seen Richard Harland to lob the big bullets at. (as, contrary to popular belief on the forum, there is a distinct shortage of PH's arround that use anything bigger than .45 cal -except the minority with doubles Wink)

I will talk with Bill at SCI or SHOT and see about bullets for my 505. It looks like I may have a spear hunter after bear and the 505 with Swifts should be just the thing to have.

See you at the show.

Mate, feel free to lob a few 500 Jeffery / .510 A frames my way if you feel in the mood! Wink

Yea, 505's and 510's in the Swift a-frame are a beautiful thing, a reality available soon.

I talked to Bill last week, suppose to have some 570grain 510's next month sent to me, can't wait. He should have the standard blue Swift boxes for the 505's and the 510's next month, at least before SCI and shot show.

Ganyana, not that you need it!
I have been reading (and fuming over) posts by armchair warriors re buff hunting. These computer moffies are the limit!
They are worse than the scads of US mag writers who are "experts" on everything re hunting and ballistics courtesy a few trips to the range and some paid for safari's.
I continue to carry my 375 for buff and reserve my 600 blast all for dinosaurs!

emron.

you can't be serious...can you? Here you are siding with Ganyana in theory and then disagreeing with him when you list your two calibers for hunting.
It's 9,3x62 for everything on the DG menu if you read his article or follow up posts here.

Rich
I am still on tap for Ganyana to buy dinner at SCI Reno, and Phil Shoemaker has to purchase the first two bottles afterwards. He does thank me for the tremendous amount of free publicity.

Yep,
I really brought this thread back to life, eh?

My ulterior motive was to merely publizice the heroism of the opponents of this fictitious contest.

Now, seriously, I don't give a rip if a lady can't handle anything bigger than a 9.3x62 for DG.
