Sorry for the delay in posting this up. Here is a lion that was killed last week in Tanzania. I hope those that have interest enjoy seeing this beautiful lion. The client that hunted this lion also took a big dugga boy and a fabulous big old leopard.

I'm hoping for one just like that, when I start my 3 week safari in Tanzania on August 1st. Only problem is, we have 2 lions to shoot in 21 days - it could be a stiff order???

The double in his hands is an Heym sidelock jumbo in .577 NE, with some extras, special stock design and switchable ejektors. (He dont like ejectors, but dont like sidelocks without this also.)

He bought it from Heym 3 years ago and still use it on a dayly Basis.

Nice Lion..

Like indicated Mark has used the Hyem 577NE for the past few years.

Many upgrades that he wanted, was/is built into this double rifle.

The 600 NE is in his possession as well as a few more that he has no intentions of selling.

We all seem to wonder why the anti's are winning. We can't even congratulate our own kind without sarcasm toward a guy that has given plenty to the safari world.
That lion may have been taken by some guy that has saved all his life to go on one African hunt and all we can do is beat up MS for putting him on the trophies. Pathetic!

Would you be kind enough to clarify if the lion was just casually 'killed' or if it was actually 'hunted'?

The reason I ask is that MS himself clearly sees a distinct difference between actual hunting (vs) just ordinary killing.

However you confusingly use the two different terms/descriptions in the same report.

Was the lion shot at more or less than 10 feet?

Since some of you have asked to see the leopard and buffalo I thought I should put those up for you to enjoy. The double rifle shown is indeed Mark’s Heym sidelock in .577 NE. I forgot to mention in the original post that this hunt was completed in 12 days of his 21 day paid safari.

Cheers,
Shawn

You are off beam. Everyone is appreciating the trophy and the 'faceless' client who got it, although it seems now by the last photos posted of the other magnificent trophies that the client (assume it is the client) is not wishing to be anonymous.

When viewing photos of trophies with a single person posed with the animal, especially when holding a rifle, we would normally assume that this is the lucky hunter/client. If the client does not want to be seen in photos that nowadays can be posted all over the web then fair enough and we would all respect this and at least hope to see just the trophy in a photo. Why do we need the PH as the Oscar winning actor in the picture. Sorry poor taste for me and would be under any circumstance.

Could not have said it better myself.

Question for you sevenmagldt, have a look through the African hunt reports. Show me a photo where the PH is posing, by himself, behind an animal his client shot? I have photo's of myself behind the animals I've shot. I have photo's of myself and the PH, behind the animals I've shot, I have photo's of myself, PH and trackers behind the animals I've shot, I have photo's of myself, PH, Trackers and Walter Eeker behind the animals I've shot but at no stage did Dylan want a photo of just himself behind the animals I shot. Just seems strange to me. Now I'm not having a go at the client at all, good on him I say.
