I have mentioned this poll in our Norwegian site sluttstykke.com, and I think members from other coutries should do the same, in order to ensure that enough members sign up for it to happen Smiler

I would just be great if some newbie got the hunt Mad and never posted anything about it Roll Eyes
I think that there should be a minimum of posts or that members should have been a member of AR for a given time period.
Lets try to keep in the Family.

I'd have to agree with André that there should be some sort of setup to weed out guys joining AR just for the raffle... A minimum of time having been registered, or posts made on AR. Or something simular.

I' ve just signed in to the AR forum, but that dosen't mean that I haven't been here before. I have often been here searching for valueable information.(for me that is). I haven't register and post anything mostly because I felt I had nothing worth shearing.
And if you guys don't make a lot selfish rules, I like a couple of tickets.

Gentlemen

My point was that I know allot of friends that would love to get some tickets and have a chance at a nice trip to Africa. But I also know that they would never post and tell you about how the hunt was and what caliber they used etc. etc.

Why did you sign in ? to get tickets ?

JMO

André

As soon as I know the details for getting tickets I will buy some. The number I buy will be determined by how much I've spent lately. I wouldn't order too many today because I ordered 12 boxes of bullets and 8 lbs of gunpowder this morning. But, next month ..........?

Jeffe, Andre, and Members,

The response to this point would indicate that not enough members are interested to pursue the Raffle. 200 plus entries are way short of what's needed to get this going. If non-members were allowed, and members pushed the Raffle to anyone interested, it might be a different story. We are not going to get too far into this, unless it can be shown that all entries can be sold.

Roger,

What about the 200 entries at 3x the current rate? Would accomplish the same thing wouldn't it??

Carmelo,

You would only get the three entry person to buy one entry. At $115.00 per entry, you would eliminate the folks who participate simply because it's a good deal.

How about a hundred dollars ($100.00) a ticket, hell, I'd be in for 3!!

That's 210 tickets need to be sold! A raffle like this is worth the hundred dollars chance!

Members,

Just curious, if we changed the price to $100.00 each and sold 200, how many now would be interested and for how many entries?

Ann, this is just another feeler, hang with me.

Jeffreydenmark, just for the record. I sent a PM to the organizers of this raffle and asked if they wanted me to post the news about this raffle on our Norwegian forum, and they said please go ahead, we need more participants. It is not something I would do without permission. The idea of a lottery is that it is lady luck who decides the winner, not worthyness, # of posts on AR... SmilerAs I have previously stated that I would be up for 3 tickets at $35, I would want one for $100. That is, if I am allowed to enter this raffle at all.

IF IT helps me get the HUNT, I will guarantee every member who participates in the drawing gets, a piece of the hide AND their own copy of the pictures taken Big Grin

further I will wax eloquently for the board here at AR with a complete journal account of the trip from the moment the feet hit the outbound aircraft until the feet hit back on the soil of the good old US of A. Smiler

I will be in for at least 2 if $100 each, it just makes the odds better if only a couple of hundred tickets sold.

Actually, the odds does not get better. If you buy 3 tickets out of 600, or 1 of 200, your chance of winning is exactly the same... I just hope a ticket price of 100 will keep people from signing up, there is still a loooong way to to to make this happen. Not enough people interested, at least yet.
