I just saw a full page add in the latest Safari mag, for the Blaser bolt rifle. Surprise! It seems the bolt rifle , like the double, must be re-cocked every time the bolt is worked to place the next cartridge in the chamber! Is that true? ....................................................................... ....Mac >>>===(x)===> MacD37, ...and DUGABOY1 DRSS Charter member "If I die today, I've had a life well spent, for I've been to see the Elephant, and smelled the smoke of Africa!"~ME 1982 Hands of Old Elmer Keith

Not how mine works...once cocked the rifle stays cocked unless you remove the trigger/magazine assembly or remove the bolt...each time the trigger is pulled and bolt is cycled it re-cocks itself. to un-cock the rifle you press slightly forward on button and let it slide back IMO..it's much safer to carry around with a round in the chamber..no need to rely on a safety.

Thank you 450-400! That is the way I thought they worked. Having a bolt rifle with even an auto safety that is engaged every time the bolt is worked makes no sense at all. That is my objection to the S2 having to re-cock the rifle manually every time the rifle is opened which make no more sense than it would on a bolt rifle. Very few double rifles chambered for dangerous game cartridges have even an auto safety but a double that doesn't re-cock it's self after a re-load boggles my mind! I have found that a lot of the wordage when translated to English from a foreign language tends to give the wrong meaning of the text. It seems that is the case with this add for the Blaser bolt rifle in the safari mag. .................................................................... ....Mac >>>===(x)===> MacD37, ...and DUGABOY1 DRSS Charter member "If I die today, I've had a life well spent, for I've been to see the Elephant, and smelled the smoke of Africa!"~ME 1982 Hands of Old Elmer Keith
