But not me.

Fine, your choice

It cannot be called any sort of a "hunt" no metter how one can stretch it.

Determined by who?

If you enjoy it, go ahead and do it.

Thank you for the permission

But, I honestly think by encouraging this soprt of thing, we are joining the PC crowd.

What sort of thing? Darting a rhino? Hell, I had killed more animals than the vast majority by age 18, wouldn't mind darting a rhino to this day, just for the experience. Lasering an elephant - see above comments. How far is too far? Unlike others, I think leopard with hounds is more acceptable than baiting and waiting, more exciting too. My opinion, nothing more

And that, my friends, is wrong.

And that my friend is opinionated and arrogant

After having taken the bait and joined the debate, I'll just need to agree that I am a total clown for doing so because I agree 100% with Todd. One thing that the antis have that we don't, and their strongest weapon, is that they don't go at each other, especially not online. I think many of you know how much I enjoy and support this site and it is hugely beneficial to so many in so many ways, but there is the downside, as with anything I guess....

Have a good day

Dave

Killing a White Rhino is no more difficult than killing a Bison (maybe easier) or angus cow. You don't have to get that close, but you can if you wish. Darting one however will put the fear of dying in you unlike shooting with rifle. Doing it right takes stalking skill, patience and luck. I've been on several failed stalks before and I can tell you, even with a double rifle in my hands, it was frosty. We weren't in the open, we were in the bush where they feel comfortable. Spook a Rhino and you'll find out real quick; NOTHING stops them or gets in their way. They center punch thorn bush, termite hills, logs...anything. Now put several of them together and you've got more fun than you bargained for. Darting Rhino isn't about the PC crowd, it's about paying $45,000 - $180,000! That's total insanity to me. I wouldn't pay that if I won the lottery. Why? Because the culprit in all this is poaching. Just look how many Rhino's we've lost to poaching. Add those back into livestock and prices wouldn't be where they are today. I've darted Lion before, that's no cake walk I assure you. Darting became popular as a less expensive way for the average Joe to "collect" the Big 5. Money, it's about the money. If the PC crowd thinks they've won another battle, they can kiss my A$$! As for Ele's, I'll think twice before I walk up to one and put a dart in it. I'll kill one maybe someday, but it won't bother me if I never make that happen, and I've turned down opportunities. I like hunting cats...just my humble opinion. Each to his/her own, and I won't jump on anyone for their choice as long as they don't tread on mine. LDK

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."
