Safari2. Nuanetsi is great for big leopards but its a 50/50 shot as to if they come in during day light and then its normally the last few minutes. I have shot 2 cats down there this year and both were at last light without a spotlight but the other out of the other 5 shot, only 2 others were in daylight. It also has not been hunted in 4 years and by 2014 it will have been hunted for 3 years then. It is possible but I personally think the Valley has a higher possibility than private land or cattle ranches to get a leopard during daylight.

Hi Jim The buffalo at Nuanetsi have 350 000 hectares to roam in and are busy moving around the area and have not found a nice spot to call home yet. We will only see next year after the rains where they have stopped. There are between 800 to 1000 buff at the moment but due to thick bush we can't get a good count. The average this year was just under 39" wide. We took a 42", 43" and the biggest was a 45" this year. I think it will be tough to start with due to thick brush but we will get them. It should be a good hunt and lots of plains game down there. We get 25 tags a year there.

Sorry I made a mistake. The whole ranch is 350 000 hectares. Game section or the southern section is 150 000 hectares. The buffalo are on the southern section.

Then I'll go with my 300 H&H. If you hade that I'll go with the tupperware 7mm Mag. Hide that I'll go with borrowing Bait Babe's 7 x 57. There's always my deadly accurate .416 Rigby too but a bit of overkill on a Leopard. No double on a Leopard for me. ______________________ DRSS ______________________ Hunt Reports 2015 His & Her Leopards with Derek Littleton of Luwire Safaris - http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/2971090112 2015 Trophy Bull Elephant with CMS http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/1651069012 DIY Brooks Range Sheep Hunt 2013 - http://forums.accuratereloadin...901038191#9901038191 Zambia June/July 2012 with Andrew Baldry - Royal Kafue http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/7971064771 Zambia Sept 2010- Muchinga Safaris http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/4211096141 Namibia Sept 2010 - ARUB Safaris http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/6781076141

Jim, I think you should go back to royal Kafue and complete the royal kafue slam with leopard and elephant! Maybe in combination with kafue flats ( or Bangweulu) ! Dennis

It's tough to beat Mark's advice. I was in Chewore North in July, and saw two leopards taken by his fellow PHs. I was told that it would take a bit of bad luck to not score on Mr. Spots on a 14 day hunt. A 15-year old young lady shot a beauty on her second day--at 7:20 in the morning!

Very very tempting Dennis!! I suspect, barring calamity, Mr. Baldry, Bait Babe, and I will share a campfire again some day. Cheers Jim ______________________ DRSS ______________________ Hunt Reports 2015 His & Her Leopards with Derek Littleton of Luwire Safaris - http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/2971090112 2015 Trophy Bull Elephant with CMS http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/1651069012 DIY Brooks Range Sheep Hunt 2013 - http://forums.accuratereloadin...901038191#9901038191 Zambia June/July 2012 with Andrew Baldry - Royal Kafue http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/7971064771 Zambia Sept 2010- Muchinga Safaris http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/4211096141 Namibia Sept 2010 - ARUB Safaris http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/6781076141

Jim, An interesting thing that I have observed and learnt from Dusty, the ecologist that is doing a very in depth study on leopard on Sango in the SVC, is that a large number of leopard feed in the early day light hours. I have seen a substantial number of cats photographed on our trail cameras in day light, mainly mornings. The fact that we are legally allowed to hunt at night means that most ( 95% ish ) of the leopard are indeed taken at night. Everyone who I have hunted with in SVC, has only been interested in getting a nice leopard, regardless of it being at night. I believe that should you only want to get a cat during daylight ours, even if it's in the SVC, one would have to adjust his method of hunting and it would certainly be very possible. I guess what I am trying to say is that you have as good a chance of getting a leopard during daylight hours, if thats what you are aiming for, on Sango for example than you do in a lot of the daylight only hunting areas of Zim. Use the right guy in the right area and the odds increase. Happy hunting.
