Ol Buzz was pretty observant and caught on to that one quickly! Darn funny... Jines and Jolly, I feel for you guys the next hunt. I can only imagine what might be in store for you!

How observant is your dangerous game PH ?

It would appear that whilst the top African PHs can be relied upon to spot danger well in advance when in their own environment they are a little slow when caught out of context.
Teeth veneers, three days stubble, thick glasses, a hat and a pillow up the shirt are all it takes to have them stumbling like an overweight novice hunter up the Makuti hills.
Whilst he started to suspect that this may not be the village idiot as he first thought Buzz still had no idea who it was. When he spotted the tip of the radio mike peeping out of the button hole he thought he had evidence, but he backed off again like a mock charge when it wasn’t admitted to readily and when he couldn’t find any wires (which had been threaded inside the material of the lapel)
Up to that point he was toast !!!
It is also worth noting that there were two other fellow dangerous game PHs present, Myles McCallum and Richie Shultz. Now these guys could have been relied upon one hundred percent if Buzz wanted backing up on a wounded lion, but when it came to dealing with a weird looking Swen you will notice that they just turned and ran !
It was only after the whole game was up and the amateurish disguise was removed that anyone recognised the person that they had hunted with for the last five years.
What level of observation is that ???
The only part of the episode that can be considered an authentic aspect of all Zim PHs is that he demanded to see a picture of the daughter before committing to any discount.

The moral of this story is;
If you are ever hunting a buffalo that happens to be wearing a hat, make sure you make your own decision that it’s a bull before you pull that trigger.

Many thanks to Dave Leonhardt and Mike Jines for all their help in setting this up and apologies for the poor accent that seemed to start in Scandinavia, moved into eastern Europe and then ended up somewhere near China.

Boris Swenson will be on tour in the Save Conservancy later in May

Also good to see that Buzz knows his place in the elephant hunting pecking order. When confronted with the statement that Number One Man "Even" Carter was too busy to book Boris, so Boris came to talk to Buzz, Buzz is very accepting of his place in the hunting food chain . . . either that or he smelled the cash and was prepared to throw caution to the wind to move in for the kill.

That episode reminded me of some of the Australians who we had in camp last hunt.. They could really get Buzz going.

This was hilarious, really a good gag!

Buzz does appreciate a good joke.

Buzz caught the microphone pretty quickly! I would have loved to have seen what was going to play out had he not known something was up!

Good job guys and thanks for the laughs!

That was the best part of the gag. I just about lost it!

I notice a lot of these young Zim PHs have a very good sense of humor. Buzz seemed to enjoy the prank almost as much as the pranksters.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

Seriously funny! However, some of the back gound people were a bit odd looking. At one point it looked like two women with their hands in each other's pockets were hanging out there.

Eeker

Oh and Svenson is one seriously odd looking dude.

I would be most worried that Buzz would get the camp's chef into the game.

Whatever it is will surely be epic and hopefully on film.

I thought the same thing when I saw the clip! If not related, they definitely buy their glasses from the same place.
