I'm kind of surprised it took so long for our Lion celebration video to get discovered on youtube. I put it there while posting my hunt report so everyone here could enjoy it as well.

I have replied with facts to the "MORON" statements and will probably not enter into a back and forth dialogue.

If anyone here cares to then have at it.

Lion Celebration

Cheers
Jim

What did you expect by posting that? Most people would find a celebration of a lion's death disgusting. Many people find us disgusting...I don't encourage them by posting any hunting videos. It is your right to do so, but don't be surprised by those kinds of comments. I applaud your defense of hunting, but you are arguing with a guy who can't even spell moron correctly.

"Moran" does remind me of graffiti I once saw on an industrial elevator door: "Scotty, beam me up...there is no inteligant life here."

Apparently "moran" is the current internet geek speak for moron.

I do not do YouTube or Facebook. I get enough of dealing with twits in regular day to day life without adding to it.

Understood!! I put it up, as I said, to share it here. I clicked on the name of the poster and he lives in Zambia. Perhaps that explains the spelling.

I'll leave the video up. Perhaps my reply will make sense to one of them once the swarm arrives.

If we remain silent, locked in a closet, then we deserve what happens to us as hunting conservationists.

I choose not to publish pics or videos of my hunts. If you decide differently then you must be prepared for the consequences, including the day PETA shows up at your home.

The celebration of your Lion was a wonderful depiction of the reverence/pride/gratitude we hunters - I include african staff in my definition of hunters - place upon these majestic animals. Many others, however, do not share our sense of value.

No worries Mate!! I certainly do not gauge my self-worth through the myopic eyes of those willing to post such drivel.

On the contrary, I plan on using the opening to do exactly what I did. Post a measured response.

I admired Bob Parsons for the way he handled the Go Daddy Elephant uproar.

you can disabble comments on those - what often happens is someone takes the link and posts it on an antihunting site and then hundreds of comments appear

Jim,

Firstly, as Ivan stated, you can disable the comments.

Secondly, if you are posting it for the AR audience and maybe some others that you want to keep SOME LEVEL OF CONTROL over, realizing that nothing is perfect, you can do as I do when posting video clips. Don't make them available to all. You can leave them public on Youtube but restricted. With that setting, only the people who have the address link can see them. Then post the link here. That way, people can't simply stumble on the the clip by doing a search for "lion hunting" or the like.

As mentioned, it isn't perfect as there are anti's that lurk here as well, but it keeps most of the BS under control. Hope that helps.

That is what I normally do. Prevents folks from stumbling into it anyway. Antis may still find it here of course but it limits the liklihood of the non-target audience finding it.

I hear ya Cal.. I still get a chuckle out of the thought of a PETA rep driving up to my house to rant. I certainly would have told him where you live so they could burn a tank of gas for naught.

They don't have the balls. They huff and puff, but none of them have ever had the stones to come to my front door.

Only one guy in 15 years had the balls to phone me. Luckily I was in a good mood and he hung up much smarter, but probably still as liberal as before.

I think your safe. Cool

Why would anyone be scared of PETA?

I will tell them to go to hell.

Do we really w ant o hide from the weirdos?

I will post my hunting photos and videos, and if they don't like it, that is their problem.

There is a lot of activities which I don't care for.

But, I don't go around telling others not to partcipate in them.

Exactly. The clip shows members of the community celebrating the conclusion of their hard work and efforts. It is their land and they derive incomes from the wildlife resource that they have protected.

The antis are welcome to try and take on the likes of Green and the other Kaounde warriors depicted here. Thats if they want an oversized skewer poked up their arse.

What is the story behind the celebrating?
Is it a new thing or is it an old part of their culture, something they have always done after a successful hunt?

The USA has experienced more than a few incidents of animal rightist violence, including the criminal arson of a number of facilities and buildings, as well as various acts of felony vandalism. These are some of the reasons that the FBI has declared the ALF (Animal Liberation Front) a domestic terrorist organization. Many in the domestic intelligence field believe PETA to be the public persona and spokesperson for the ALF.

I am "scared" of very little, but considering I live in a suburban area and have children, grandchildren and pets, I don't want issues with these whack-jobs. It's called discretion. I have, in the past, had to deal with these folks and consider them to be unbalanced, irrational and potentially dangerous.

It would perhaps be different in Alaska or Dubai.

There are actually three different songs in the "medley". The middle one is perhaps the one you have heard before "Chipolopolo". It's more linked to the Zambia National soccer team and the litteral translation is "the copper bullets"

The first part of the celebration we asked the Game scout Victor, who befriended Joyce on Facebook, to translate for us and his loose translation is a celebration of credit for a good job thus the credit called out for the PH, Hunter, and tracker.

The final part in the Medley is a local Kainde song and I'm not sure of the meaning.

I could be wrong.
