bwanamrmGreat Hunt with Martin Pieters! (Pix added)
Folks,
Just back from a short hunt with Martin Pieters in Omay North. Had a fantastic time... the weather was bloody hot but the hunting was outstanding. Our group of four had our buff down by the end of Day 2. As the week came to a close, our tally was 4 buff, 2 elephant, a bushbuck, impala and of course, Kelly and Sean had to shoot at least one baboon!
I had one of the most exciting single days of hunting in my career taking a 40 lb. elephant and a 40" buff on the same day. Full hunt report coming along with plenty of pix... Gotta get some rest now for off to work on the morrow.
On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

All the best,

Neil-PHGreat Buffalo !! Do yourself, and the buff a favour....When you get your taxidermist to do your mounting, make sure he gets a copy of the very picture you posted. The definition and character of your buff are all present - just make sure he mounts it EXACTLY the same - it is an awesome specimen, and in great condition.

How dare you try to drag me down to your level of crappy shooting?
I have never had to shoot a buff more than once, and on several occasions my awe inspiring presence convinced the bull to just lay down and die, therefore saying me a round of expensive ammunition.

shakariGreat trophies and glad to see you're a fellow Kipling fan!
Funnily enough, when I did my first PH licence back in 19blackandwhite, Ian Goss, who is another Kipling fan, sat me down and told me I'd passed everything but there was one final test I had to complete and it all hinged on my giving him a perfect answer...... then the old bugger told me I had to recite 'If' word perfectly or he'd fail me!
I'm glad to say, I got it right and drove away with my licence in my pocket and a smug grin on my face!
